Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings may be 10 spots below the Trail Blazers in terms of Western Conference standings, but they come in as equals when it comes to their last three games. Both teams are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

For Sacramento, those three losses have come to the likes of the Dallas Mavericks, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers. Their last win was against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 11.
So far this season, Sacramento is a middle-of-the-road offensive team, averaging 101.9 points per contest. That number is good enough for 13th in the NBA, which is far better than the 26th-place ranking they’ve earned in terms of points per game allowed.
Against Portland, the obvious goal is to slow down Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Making the role players do damage is key, but so is keeping those role players off their most comfortable spot: the three-point line.
Portland Trail Blazers
Like Sacramento, the Portland Trail Blazers are in the middle of a three-game skid. They’ve lost their last three contests against the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies.
Luckily for Portland, the Kings will prove to be the easiest opponent in the middle of a tough stretch. Sacramento has talent all over the board, but they just haven’t been able to put it together from a chemistry perspective.
Not only is this the easiest contest in the last four games for the Blazers, but it’s the start of a reasonable stretch in the schedule. A win here will set the tone for a nice long stretch that will allow the Blazers to inch closer to the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference.

NBA Handicapping Trends:
- Trail Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games
- Trail Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall
- Kings are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 Monday games
- Kings are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games
- Kings are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games on 1 days rest
4* NBA Prediction: Portland 110 – Sacramento 98
Recent trends don’t favor the Trail Blazers, but they don’t favor a struggling Kings squad, either. Portland is looking to prove it’s worthy of a No. 1 seed, while Sacramento is looking to prove it’s worthy of a spot in the playoffs.
Although both seem a bit unlikely, Portland is the one with the more realistic goal. Look for the Blazers to take this game in convincing fashion with a tough part of the schedule officially behind them.
Pick Portland ATS.
