Monday NBA betting action sees the Denver Nuggets taking on the Charlotte Hornets in Charlotte, NC. Cappers picks provides free NBA handicapping tips all season long.

With all of the drama surrounding the Hornets about Lance Stephenson they have seemed to have found some motivation and will play host to the injury ridden Nuggets on Monday.

Denver

With Danilo Gallinari, Nate Robinson, and Randy Foye all suffering injuries it has been hard to get the chemistry working.

Gallinari is coming off his best performance of the year where he scored 19 points off the bench, but the Nuggets announced after the game that he tore his meniscus and will be out for a couple weeks.

The Nuggets are going through a tough stretch of the season where they are playing four games in five nights and Monday’s game will be the first part of a back-to-back. They will look to dominate in the paint because of the absence of their perimeter shooters, but that will be tough with their depleted roster.

Timofey Mozgov has stepped up and is playing great interior basketball. Last game against Indiana he hauled in 15 rebounds and added five blocks in the Nuggets’ dominate paint performance.

Last year, the Nuggets dropped both games they played to the Hornets despite outscoring them in the paint a total of 102-64.

Charlotte

Lance Stephenson and the Hornets have yet to find a middle ground in trade negotiations, but the rest of the players haven’t seemed to mind.

During Stephenson’s absence the Hornets have mounted a season-high two game win streak, looking for their third in a row on Monday.

Point guard and young superstar Kemba Walker has been playing exceptionally well shooting almost 20% higher from the field in his last four games.

Coach Clifford believes their improved play should be attributed to their defense and the statistics agree with him.

The Hornets forced 24 turnovers in their win against the 76ers on Friday and held the Jazz to 38% shooting in their win on Sunday.

The Hornets will hope to get veteran big man Al Jefferson back for Monday’s contest.

Jefferson suffered a groin injury on Saturday mid-way through the fourth quarter and was unable to return.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Hornets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
  • Hornets are 7-1-1 ATS following a S.U. win by at least ten points.
  • Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
  • Nuggets are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
  • The home team is 7-3 ATS in the last ten meetings.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Al Jefferson is listed as probable and will most likely be back at 100% after saying he could have game on Saturday if he was needed. Expect Kemba Walker to have another big performance and the Hornets to pick up their third win in a row.

I think Charlotte is out to prove something without Lance Stephenson and the players want to show they can win without him.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: CHA -2

If the Hornets can slow down the interior play of the Nuggets they will have a good chance to win this ball game.

CHA 103, DEN 97

Charlotte has been playing their best basketball of the season as of late and look for it to continue Monday night in front of their home crowd.
