It is too bad the Heat are not very competitive right now.

Miami

There will be some juice between these teams as long as LeBron is in the league.

If they were both good this could easily be a fun treat but the Heat are not, though they did win their lone meeting against the Cavs this season.

Miami broke a losing streak in their last game by beating up on the hapless Knicks but they have not been good on the road of late, dropping their last three.

They are not at full strength either with Dwyane Wade still on the shelf. The supporting cast has holes.

Chris Bosh has definitely taken advantage of the extra shots this season to the tune of averaging more than 20ppg once again.

With Wade out there are even more at his disposal and he hit for 32 in the win over the Knicks. After him reliable scoring options are hard to come by.

Luol Deng is not having a great season and even though Hassan Whiteside has been terrific over the last month he is still a relatively unproven commodity.

Cleveland

The light is definitely on in Cleveland. For the first couple of months of the season they definitely struggled to come together but after some moves and more time they have been as good as any team, save Atlanta, in the East in 2015.

A long winning streak came to a close last week at Indiana but they rebounded at home against the Lakers.

Their overall ATS record for the season is still under .500 but they are earning back bettors trust with the way they have been playing lately.

Against L.A. Kevin Love had his top scoring game of the season with 32 points.

His numbers were expected to take a little hit in Cleveland but they really fell because he just wasn’t shooting well. If he is really regaining his stroke this team will be very tough down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Just when you get used to LeBron being LeBron he finds a new level. Since his respite he has been phenomenal.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Under is 5-0 in Heat last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
  • Under is 6-0 in Heat last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
  • Under is 8-1 in Heat last 9 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Cavaliers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Cavaliers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games.
  • Under is 7-1 in Cavaliers last 8 games following a S.U. win.
  • Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Cleveland.

4* NBA Prediction:  Cleveland -11.5

This number is bigger than I like but I can not really get behind Miami.

NBA Score prediction:  Cleveland 104 – Miami 90

A cover wouldn’t shock but the Heat are definitely a fade team until Wade gets back for me.
