Eastern Conference
All season long the East has been maligned for not having top quality teams so you have to think these guys are going to have a chip on their shoulder.
When you look at the starters you see LeBron and Carmelo, if he plays, alongside Pau Gasol, John Wall and first time All-Star Kyle Lowry.

As a Toronto guy I am thrilled that Lowry is getting recognized but this is not an overly intimidating group.
It is a good thing that Lowry is a good enough shooter to play off the ball because I don’t think Wall can.
The Eastern Conference reserves feature the Atlanta Hawks.
With Kyle Korver being an injury addition four players from the East’s best team are on the roster, which is filled out with the likes of Chris Bosh, Jimmy Butler and Kyrie Irving.

It is a nice gesture to have included all those Hawks and you have to think they will play together like a unit.
I think the last time something like that happened in this game was in the early 2000s with the Pistons.
Western Conference
The story in the West is starters missing the game due to injury – they have three of them in Blake Griffin, Kobe Bryant and Anthony Davis.
At this moment I have not seen who the replacements will be but you have to assume that leading scorer James Harden will get the call and so might his former teammate Kevin Durant.
The two for sure starters as voted by the fans are Steph Curry and Marc Gasol.
I have to believe that the Gasol brothers will take the opening tip which is kind of a neat moment.
Coming off the bench for the West will be the other splash brother Klay Thompson who I think is a great under the radar MVP candidate as he should have the opportunity to put up a whack of shots.

Joining him will be Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Dirk, Tim Duncan, LaMarcus Aldridge and for the first time Demarcus Cousins.
It will be interesting to see if “Boogie” can tone down the intensity and enjoy the game. Oops I almost forgot Damian Lillard.

4* NBA Score Prediction: West 132 – East 125
I have to think that when the number is release the West will be favoured…and for good reason. Still I think the value in all games of this nature is with the underdog.
