I’m actually very surprised to see that the Suns are such big favorites.

This is going to be the Wizards fourth road game in just five nights, which is why the Suns come in as the favored team despite playing much worse. The bookies expect to see the Wizards rest up a player or two.

You never know if the Wizards will sit anyone, but at the time of writing this pick they have their normal starting line-up in place. Since this is the late game tonight line-ups won’t be confirmed until much later.

Washington comes into this game scoring 99.9 PPG (17th) while allowing 97.5 PPG (9th). They have a good frontcourt with Gortat and Hilario, but both are aging veterans that may play limited minutes tonight.

Wall and Beal should be good to go tonight, as both guards are young and have a lot of mileage left in the tank. However, both guards will have tough match-ups tonight against Bledsoe and Dragic of the Suns.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Bledsoe is a beast and Dragic has really stepped up his play. Phoenix also has a young frontcourt with Len and Markieff Morris starting, but Len is still playing really limited minutes and I have no idea why.

Phoenix can score a lot of points (107.4 PPG – 3rd), but defense has escaped them, as they allow 105.3 PPG (28th). Both teams are outside of the T10 in rebounding, but the Wizards have an edge there as well.

These teams played once this year and the Suns dominated (104-92) as underdogs. Nearly 90% of early action has been coming in on the Suns and that would worry me if I were backing the favorite tonight.

I’m betting on the Wizards who are playing better and have the more talented team. Washington has a deep bench with a lot of talent that can eat up minutes while competing, so rest won’t be a big issue.

4* Free NBA Picks: Washington Wizards vs. Phoenix Suns

After tonight the Wizards will have two nights off before hosting the Raptors. Keep an eye on the line-ups tonight to make sure that Wall doesn’t sit, but as long as he’s starting I’ll be betting on Washington ATS.

Washington Wizards +6.5 (-110)

Phoenix may win a close one at home, but this is a tough team to trust regardless of where they’re playing or who they’re playing.

The Wizards keep it close enough all night to easily cover the point spread.
