NBA Basketball Picks: Handicapping Angles – Weekly Free Parlay

NBA Weekly Free Parlay Picks

The NCAA Tournament has been occupying bettor’s attention in recent days and while there is only one game on this Thursday’s NBA slate, I loved it so much that I am using it for this week’s parlay for Cappers Picks with a play on the side combined with a play on the total line.

The following is a brief breakdown of this matchup with both picks based on NBA betting odds by BetOnline.

Indiana Pacers vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Pointspread: Milwaukee -2
Total Line: 191

The Pacers looked like they were going to make a late season run with nine straight-up victories in a span of 10 games, but a 93-89 loss to Boston on March 14 as 8.5-point home favorites has set off a string of six-straight losses heading into Wednesday night road game against Washington.

Indiana has been opened as a 3.5-point road underdog in that matchup after failing to cover in seven of its previous nine outings. The total has gone OVER in five of its last eight games.

Indiana has had a tough time winning on the road this season at 12-22 SU, but it is still a solid 19-14-1 ATS.

It continues to struggle with consistency when it comes to putting points on the board and the team is currently ranked 24th in the league in scoring with an average of 96.6 points per game. While the Pacers have maintained this average during their six-game skid, they have allowed an average of 106.8 points, which is a far cry from a season average of 97 PPG that is ranked fourth in the NBA.

Milwaukee has almost become a mirror image of its Central Division rivals down the stretch. This past Tuesday’s 89-88 victory against Miami as a two-point home underdog snapped a six-game SU losing streak. The Bucks now have just three SU wins in their last 14 games while going 5-8-1 ATS. The crazy thing about this slide is that they are still in sixth place in the watered-down Eastern Conference with a SU record of 35-36.

The Bucks’ SU record at home this season is 20-14 with a 16-18 record ATS. They have failed to cover in four of their last five games at home and the total stayed UNDER in three of those contests. Milwaukee has a very slight edge against the Pacers in scoring with 97.6 PPG and defensively it is ranked sixth in the NBA in points allowed (97.4).

This will be the fourth meeting this season with Indiana holding a 2-1 edge SU in the first three games. The Bucks have covered ATS in two of those three matchups and the total has stayed UNDER in two of the games as well.

These two division foes are about as closely matched as it gets in this league, but Milwaukee is in an excellent position to take advantage of a road-weary Pacers’ team that will be playing its third game in four nights.

In the first part of this parlay lay the two points and take the Bucks at home and to seal the deal take the UNDER on the total line.
