Granderson clubbed a three-run shot while Daniel Murphy belted a three-run homer and drove in four runs as the visiting Mets made it six consecutive wins in the Subway Series with a 12-7 win at the Yankees on Tuesday.

With the loss the Yankees have now lost four straight games as their pitching staff struggled, allowing a combined 32 runs in those four losses.

Meanwhile, the Mets have pulled back to a .500 record with three straight wins and have exploded offensively as of late, producing a combined 26 runs in their last three games.

The Yanks will look to stop that offense by sending youngster Masahiro Tanaka to the hill on Wednesday in game one. The 25-year-old is a perfect 5-0 with a 2.57 ERA and has 58 strikeouts in 49 innings this season and is pitching lights out in his first year in the majors.

However it will be Tanaka’s first time facing the Mets in his young career.

He will go against 23-year-old Rafael Montero, who will make his major league debut.

In four years in the minors, the right-hander as 32-17 with a 2.63 ERA and had 367 strikeouts in 390 innings.
He will be challenged by a Yankees lineup that includes Yangervis Solarte, who has nine RBIs in his last eight games and Brett Gardner who has a seven-game hitting streak.

The Yankees are 0-5 in the last 5 meetings with the Mets.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Yankees –

The Mets are hitting the ball well lately, and Montero is an solid young pitcher.
And even though the Yankees’ offense has been cold recently, they are 4-0 in Tanaka’s last four starts.

Therefore, I’ll take the Yankees to win today.
