ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

The Dodgers (33-31) are 20-12 away from Chavez Ravine, and are tied with San Francisco for the best road record in the National League after taking two of three at Colorado over the weekend.

Shortstop Hanley Ramirez homered in Sunday’s rain-shortened 6-1 victory, increasing his RBI total to 12 in as many outings.

Los Angeles outscored the Rockies 17-8 during the series, while Matt Kemp helped out with five hits in nine at-bats with three walks and three RBIs for the Dodgers, who were without second baseman Dee Gordon and right fielder Yasiel Puig in game three on Sunday, after both were held out of the lineup and are considered day-to-day.

The Dodgers give the nod to right-hander Dan Haren in game one, who is 0-3 over his last four outings, allowing 17 runs and 30 hits.

He is 3-3 with a 4.95 ERA in seven career starts against the Reds and will aim to keep right fielder Jay Bruce in check, as he done very well versus LA, swatting four homers in seven games against last season.

The Reds (29-32) meanwhile, will counter with southpaw Tony Cingrani, who has had trouble as of late, going 0-4 while surrendering 14 runs in his last four starts. He has however fanned 53 batters in 55 innings, but has given up 10 home runs.

Cingrani got a no decision last season in his only career start against the Dodgers, after giving up just one hit with 11 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings.

This time around he will expect to get a little offensive support from a lineup that includes Todd Frazier, who has homered in four of his last seven games and leads the Reds with 13.

Betting Trends

  • LA are 16-5 in their last 21 Mon. games.
  • Under is 11-3-1 in the last 15 meetings.

Notes:

1. Reds RF Jay Bruce belted four homers in seven games against the Dodgers last season, tied for his most against any team.
2. Los Angeles SS Hanley Ramirez homered Sunday and has knocked in 12 runs in his last 12 contests.
3. Cincinnati C Devin Mesoraco leads the team in batting average (.304) but is hitless in his last 17 at-bats.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Dodgers

The Dodgers are doing well on the road, and with Cingrani having trouble finding his groove, I expect LA to notch the win here.
