Los Angeles has won seven of the nine meetings with the Rangers this year, and will try to bounce back from a loss on Thursday to the Twins, against a Texas Rangers team that will try to push its current win streak to three, when the two AL rivals open a three-game set on Friday in Anaheim.

Former Halos’ outfielder Josh Hamilton will return to Angels Stadium along with his Rangers (45-49), who were swept the last time they came to sunny southern California, while being outscored by Anaheim, 33-8.
The Rangers are hot as of late, though, and have scored at least seven runs in four of their last five games, including scoring 19 runs over its final two games at Colorado.

Meanwhile, Anaheim (54-41) had its seven-game winning streak snapped Thursday, falling 3-0 to the visiting Minnesota Twins.
The first-place Halos have struggled at the plate, managing only four singles, while falling to 6-1 during their 10-game homestand.
The Rangers’ Colby Lewis will try to add to the Angles scoring drought, as he takes the mound for the third time against Anaheim this season.
The veteran right-hander lost both of his prior 2014 meetings with the Angels, and has yet to beat them in his last six starts, with an 11.35 ERA.
However, Lewis is coming off a victory at Houston on Saturday, and has now won five of his last six decisions while yielding three earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine outings.

Anaheim will counter with rookie Rick Tropeano, who is being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to make his second start of the season.
The right-hander did well against Oakland in his first turn this season, recording a victory against Oakland after six scoreless innings.

Rangers – And while the Rangers are 2-7 versus the Angels this season, and 7-21 in the all-time series since the start of the 2014 campaign, I have to go with Texas in this one, as Lewis’ hot streak continues and he finally shakes the Anaheim monkey off his back, once and for all.
