The Braves (23-23) bounced back to .500 on the season beating the Dodgers, just hours after completing a six-player exchange with the LA earlier in the day.

Shortstop Andrelton Simmons would score the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the eighth before Nick Markakis added a run-scoring, ground-rule double to

Meanwhile the Giants (27-20), completed a series sweep with 3-1 win over Brewers on Wednesday, finishing their road trip with a 5-2 record. They now return to San Francisco 1 1/2 games behind Dodgers.

Outfielder Angel Pagan returned to the lineup on Tuesday but needs to snap out of a small slump. Pagan is batting .306 this season but just .205 in his last 11 games.

Atlanta will send Shelby Miller to the mound in Game 1.

The right-hander has been lights out on the mound. Miller allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings on Saturday, striking out five, but got a no-decision in an extra-inning win over Milwaukee.

He now heads to pitcher-friendly park in San Francisco, where he should have a solid outing.

The Giants will counter with righty Chris Heston, who has won his last three straight starts, including a 10-8 win at Colorado on May 23.

He gave up eight hits, and six earned runs including three homers in that one however, after a 9-8 win at the Reds where he surrendered seven hits and five runs.

Braves – It’s hard to go against the Giants who are 14-9 at home, but Heston, although winning, has been less than impressive.

In the meantime, Miller allowed just three runs in his last three outings and has looked very strong.
