The Indianapolis Colts fresh off a convincing Monday Night win over Division rivals Houston travel to the City of Brotherly Love on Sunday to take on a well rested, healthy Philadelphia squad that had the luxury of the bye last week. It is a game in which one streak will end – Peyton Manning’s 3-0 career record versus the Eagles or Andy Reid’s 11-0 record coming off a bye.

Indianapolis looked incredible on Monday night. It is hard to bet against a team that controls the clock, the flow of the game and controls the scoreboard as well. Peyton Manning orchestrated the perfect game plan once again and proved that he doesn’t care who he has to throw the ball to – as long as they can catch, the ball will be delivered accurately and on time.

Manning has a knack of making everyone around him look better. On offense it was Jacob Tamme and Mike Hart that benefitted from Peyton’s play. Hell, even the defense looked good because of what Peyton was able to accomplish. By getting an early lead, the defense was able to focus on rushing the quarterback – Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney were monsters last week.

The Philadelphia Eagles will turn to Michael Vick again this week after he declared himself healthy and ready to go. He was the Top rated passer in the NFL before his injury and he creates matchup nightmares for opposing offenses. Vick can do damage inside and outside the pocket meaning that Indy’s defense will have to be on their toes. Week 9 will also see DeSean Jackson return to the field after a concussion. This will be a huge boost for the Eagles 9th ranked passing offense.

Philadelphia’s defense will be the key to this game. Currently, they are ranked 11th against the pass and 18th against the run. Not many teams have been able to slow Peyton Manning down this season so there is no real defensive formula for success.

Betting Prediction:

The Indianapolis Colts are 5-1 S/U in their last six games, are 13-4 S/U in their last 17 road games but are just 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road. The Colts are 5-1 S/U and ATS in their last six meetings with the Eagles and are 4-1 S/U in their last five trips to Philadelphia.

The Eagles are 4-2 S/U in their last six games but are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall. Philadelphia is 10-4 S/U at home in their last 14 but is just 2-5 ATS in their last seven at home.

The Indianapolis Colts looked like the best team in the AFC on Monday night and I expect their success to continue. Michael Vick is bound to show some rust after a long layoff. I do believe that it will be a close game but I just can’t bet against the field general – Peyton Manning.

Betting Pick: Indianapolis Colts +3
