NFL Week 15 Preview: Cleveland vs. Philadelphia

NFL Football Betting Preview and football handicapping plus free picks for the Week 15 Wagering matchup between the Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles…

NFL FOOTBALL BETTING Cleveland vs. Philadelphia

The NFL will wrap up its 15th week of sports betting action on Monday night when the Cleveland Browns (4-9, 6-6-1 ATS) invade the City of Brotherly Love to do battle with the Philadelphia Eagles (7-5-1, 8-5 ATS). This is the last chance of the weekend for BetUS customers to boost their bankrolls on an enticing Monday night matchup.

These two teams have only met twice since Cleveland returned to the NFL, with the Eagles winning both match-ups. Browns bettors got the last laugh though, as Cleveland covered the spread in both matches. Both clashes have been offensive clinics as the two have combined to score 59 and 65 points to easily surpass the closing ‘total’.

The Browns had their third straight incredibly lackluster effort on Sunday against the Titans, stirring up more rumors that HC Romeo Crennel is in his last few days in Cleveland. Tennessee knocked the Browns off 28-9, easily covering the spread as lofty 14-point home favorites. QB Ken Dorsey started his first game of the season in relief of both Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson, but it wasn’t one to remember. He completed 22 of 43 passes for 150 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. The Browns only managed 178 yards of offense. They have only averaged 203.7 yards per game in their L/3 games, and haven’t scored a touchdown in almost 13 quarters of football.

The passing game has been absolutely dreadful. No quarterback has thrown for more than 250 yards since October 13th. The unit ranks 29th in the NFL with 167.5 passing yards per game. It should come as no surprise that the Browns have only scored 21 points in the L/3 games, and are 0-2-1 ATS for their football bettors during that stretch.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are rolling and could still have a huge effect on the NFC playoff picture after being written off for dead a few weeks ago. Eagles’ bettors had a cakewalk in Week 14 betting action, as the green and white beat the defending champs 20-14 in a game they dominated from the opening kick.

RB Brian Westbrook was unstoppable. He ran the ball 33 times for 131 yards and a touchdown and led the team with six receptions for 72 yards and a score. Lost in the impressive offensive outing was the Eagles defense, which held the Giants to 211 total yards of offense. Over one third of those yards came on the final drive of the game, which resulted in a relatively meaningless score for the G-Men.

After scoring just 20 points in two games against Cincinnati and Baltimore, the Eagles offense has been rolling, putting up 68 points in their L/2 games. It should come as no surprise that both games have been easy covers for Philadelphia.

Oddsmakers are expecting a romp in this one, as they have lined the Eagles as two-touchdown favorites with a game ‘total’ of 38.5.

It’s all about the ‘under’ with these two teams. The Browns are 13-6 for ‘under’ bettors in their L/19 games overall, while six of the L/8 games played in the City of Brotherly Love have failed to surpass the closing ‘total’. In their L/21 MNF games, the Eagles have gone 13-6-2 for ‘under’ bettors.
