Bet On UFC 114 – Sportsbook.com – Matchups
Looking to bet on UFC matchups? UFC 114 marks the first major UFC fight card not to feature a title fight in quite some time – but there’s still plenty of reason to watch and wager.
Event: UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans
Date: May 29, 2010
Time: 10PM ET/7PM PT
Location: Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, Nevada
Broadcast: Pay-per-view
MAIN CARD
Rashad Evans -125
Quinton Jackson -105
This is a grudge match for the ages. Evans has been training for this day for over a year while Rampage…well – he’s been filming a movie. Evans is the hungrier and more well rounded of the two and is tied with or better than Rampage in every aspect of MMA.
Pick: Rashad Evans by 3rd Round TKO
Dan Miller +135
Michael Bisping -165
Both of these guys have fought and lost to top Middleweights in the UFC. One of them will emerge and place themselves in the middle of the “Title talk”. The other has some work to do to establish themselves. I like Bisping in this one. His footwork and his hands will be the difference as he tries to stay away from the Brazilian jiu-jitsu Black Belt Miller.
Pick: Michael Bisping by Unanimous Decision
Mike Russow +300
Todd Duffee -400
Classic wrestler vs. striker matchup. Todd Duffee has 6 victories – all by Knockout – three of which have come within 20 seconds of the fight. Good luck Mike Russow!
Pick: Todd Duffee by KO
Jason Brilz +475
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira -675
Every time that a Noguiera brother fights, there is some intrigue. He has World Class Talents and is as good on his feet as he is on the ground. Jason Brilz has never faced anyone the caliber of “Little Nog” and will be schooled in this fight.
Pick: Noguiera by TKO
John Hathaway +170
Diego Sanchez -210
Diego Sanchez returns to the Welterweight division after being pummeled by BJ Penn at Lightweight. Sanchez is still one of the more intense, well rounded fighters around and he has been in the Octagon win some of the best. It’s quite a step up for John Hathaway who will learn a lesson or two, but will gain some valuable experience in a loss.
Pick: Diego Sanchez by TKO
PRELIMINARY CARD
Dong Hyun Kim +115
Amir Sadollah -145
A relative newcomer to the sport, Amir Sadollah boasts surprisingly strong all around skills and a willingness to learn. Kim is an unbeaten in his MMA career. He is known for his devastating Judo and Kickboxing but has not been in the Octagon with top tier talent just yet. Expect Xtreme Couture pupil, Amir Sadollah to outwork Kim to a decision victory.
Pick: Amir Sadollah
Dan Lauzon +365
Efrain Escudero -425
Two former friends and training partners square off in a Lightweight bout. Escudero is a disciplined fighter who loves to train and learn the fight game while Dan Lauzon is the polar opposite. A dispute with his trainers and management team has Lauzon looking like a lost fighter right now. Escudero has the all around game to give Lauzon fits and teach him a lesson or two inside the Octagon.
Pick: Efrain Escudero
Cyrille Diabate +350
Luiz Cane -550
Luiz Cane will be looking to get back in the win column after a devastating defeat at the hands of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira against a fast, crisp and unorthodox striker, Cyrille Diabate. Cane, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu Black Belt should have his way with Diabate who has a reputation of allowing people to bully him in the Octagon.
Pick: Luiz Cane
Melvin Guillard -260
Waylon Lowe +200
Waylon Lowe replaces Thiago Tavares in this fight and will be looking to use his size and wrestling ability to take Guillard down. Guillard is a UFC veteran whose strength is his takedown defense and ability to escape back to his feet when taken to the mat. Guillard’s experience and all around game should be too tough for Lowe to handle.
Pick: Melvin Guillard
Joe Brammer +145
Aaron Riley -175
This is another brawler vs. grappler showdown. Riley is a 13 year fighting veteran and does best in an all out striking contest. Brammer is a wrestler and jiu-jitsu practitioner who has five of his seven wins by submission. Riley’s experience should win out in this contest.
Pick: Aaron Riley
Jesse Forbes +110
Ryan Jensen -140
This is a battle of “C Grade” fighters. Forbes trains with a very good team – Arizona Combat Sports and is a good wrestler with undeveloped standup skills. Ryan Jensen has made his living mostly in lesser organizations and has lost two of three fights in the UFC. I like Ryan Jensen’s versatility to prevail in this one – Forbes is prone to mistakes and Jensen will capitalize.
Pick: Ryan Jensen
