Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic
Oklahoma City Thunder +7-105 (Sportsbook.com)

In the marquee Friday night NBA matchup the OKC Thunder travel to Orlando to take Dwight Howard and the Magic. Both teams come into this one with almost identical records (Thunder 36-20 16-12 on the road, Magic 36-22 21-9 at home). The Thunder made a statement with their trade for big man Kendrick Perkins this week from Boston, but won’t have him in the lineup tonight. As for Orlando their first game after the All-Star break left Howard screaming at his team for their poor performance. The Magic are 6 games back of Miami in the Southeast, and 7-7 in their last 14 games. The Thunder are nestled in fourth in the Western Conference, 2½ games behind the Lakers and 3½ ahead of New Orleans. OKC won the first meeting 125-124 on Jan. 13. I look for this one to be close again tonight, OKC plays the Magic tough (splitting 2 games last year as well). Some trends that I like for this game include, OKC are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 Fri. games. Thunder are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5. Thunder are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. ORL are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 Fri. games. Magic are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Magic are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Northwest.

JIM FEIST
NBA | Feb 25, 2011
Atlanta Hawks vs. Golden State Warriors
Play: 1 Unit Golden State Warriors -2½-110

Atlanta is a long way from home and this is their 5th straight road game. They haven’t been playing well, on a 1-5 SU/ATS run. The offense has really slumped of late and made a big trade this week, sending Mike Bibby, rookie Jordan Crawford, swingman Mo Evans and their 2011 first-round draft pick to the Wizards. Golden State is 19-12 at home and on a nice 3-1 SU/ATS run, even winning at Utah as a dog. They’ve also won 7 of the last 10 games. The home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. Play the Warriors! Friday NBA Betting

The NBA offers up a dozen games on Friday, with Sacramento at Charlotte, Phoenix at Toronto, Utah at Indiana, Detroit at Philadelphia, New York at Cleveland, Washington at Miami, New Orleans at Minnesota, Oklahoma City at Orlando, New Jersey at San Antonio, Denver at Portland, Atlanta at Golden State, and the Clippers at the Lakers. IN NBA news today The Detroit Pistons might have an interesting lineup for Friday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Five key players missed the morning shootaround for a variety of reasons. Swingman Tracy McGrady bowed out with a headache, while small forward Tayshaun Prince sat out with an achy back and a bout of the flu. Jared Jeffries’ tenure in Houston came to an end Friday after the Rockets bought out the remainder of the swingman’s contract. Andray Blatche is reportedly in hot water again. The temperamental Washington Wizards forward allegedly threatened a Twitter follower following an online disagreement between the two. A knee injury will keep center Kendrick Perkins from making his Oklahoma City Thunder debut until next week at the earliest. Cavaliers point guard Baron Davis is expected to arrive in Cleveland on Saturday, but his status for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers isn’t yet known.

Friday CBB Betting

The Friday night college hoops slate is highlighted by the Ivy League action: Columbia at Pennsylvania, Dartmouth at Yale, Cornell at Princeton, and Harvard at Brown. IN CBB news today Holy Family coach John O’Connor resigned Thursday after a conflict with a former player, the Associated Press reported. O’Connor quit after being informed that he faced criminal charges from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office brought on from Matt Kravchuk. Oklahoma State point guard Ray Penn has been suspended indefinitely for not following team policy, coach Travis Ford announced.

Friday NHL Hockey Betting

There are nine games on the NHL’s schedule for Friday, with Pittsburgh at Carolina, Phoenix at Columbus, Ottawa at Buffalo, New Jersey at Tampa Bay, Florida at Atlanta, San Jose at Calgary, St. Louis at Edmonton, Minnesota at Anaheim, and the Rangers at Washington. IN NHL news today The Toronto Maple Leafs will have goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere back in the lineup this weekend, but he likely won’t see any playing time. The Nashville Predators were busy Friday, placing forward Steve Sullivan on the injured list and dealing defenseman Alexander Sulzer to the Florida Panthers for a conditional draft pick. The Anaheim Ducks signed executive vice president and general manager Bob Murray to a four-year contract extension Friday.
