Heisman Forecast: Week 11
CAM NEWTON, Auburn
The modern 24-hour news cycle is what it is, for good or ill. No one knows that better than Cam Newton. Still, whatever controversy is swirling around in the headlines about him, his numbers just get more and more gaudy. Newton had his best passing day yet last week against UT-Chattanooga, tossing for 317 yard and four scores, and adding a TD on the ground.
This race is his to lose, and the only way it looks like that could possibly happen is by laying an egg against rival Alabama.

LaMICHAEL JAMES, Oregon
For the past few weeks now, the top two in the Heisman race have been more consistent than death and taxes. James galloped for 121 yards and three TDs in a 53-16 pasting of Washington last Saturday. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
He leads the nation in rushing yards per game, is averaging just under seven yards per clip and brings 18 total TDs to the table. Like Auburn, the Ducks are still unbeaten too.
KELLEN MOORE, Boise State
Following a few games where the southpaw’s numbers were slightly more pedestrian, Moore exploded for a career-best 507 yards against Hawaii last week. He did throw two picks in the game, but Moore has a better QB rating than Newton, Andrew Luck or Ryan Mallett.
Boise of course is an oft-talked about non-AQ team that has run the table.
ANDREW LUCK, Stanford
Stanford has only one loss after a convincing win against conference heavyweight Arizona and Andrew Luck is a fantastic pivot and probably the best QB pro prospect in the nation.
But his season just hasn’t been quite as impressive as the others’.
Mentionable
JUSTIN BLACKMON, Oklahoma State He’s the best WR in the country on an overlooked team.
But after his DUI and the strength of the other candidates on this list, to say he’s a darkhorse is an understatement.
