Garnett spent 12 seasons in a Twolves jersey, starting all the way back when he was 19 years old. Washington will need to avoid all distractions, as they’re hoping to put an end to their 4 game losing streak. This will mark the 2nd and final meeting between the teams, as Washington took the 1st one 109-95.
Washington
The Wizards struggles have come at the worst possible time. Losers of 4 in a row, Washington has seen their current skid hurt their playoff seeding. Now sitting 2.5 games behind Cleveland for the 4 seed, they are now just 1.5 games clear of Milwaukee for the 5 seed.

If they didn’t know it before this, Washington fans and players know just how important it is to have Bradley Beal in the lineup. Beal was averring 15.0 points prior to his leg injury. He’ll more than likely be out once again, which means somebody else will need to step up and take over for Washington.
F Paul Pierce tried to do just that last time out as he dropped in 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the loss to Golden State. He’ll need to continue to have performances like that if the Wizards hope to not only just hold on to their 5th spot, but possible jump Cleveland for 4th.
G John Wall continues to impress as he dished out 11 assists and scored 16 points against the Warriors. Scoring will be a priority for him as Washington hopes to pick up the slack for Beal’s absence and missed 15 points a game.

Minnesota
The Timberwolves haven’t had much to cheer about this season. The most excitement they’ll endure will come Wednesday night when they pack the Target Center to welcome back F Kevin Garnett. With an expected sold out crowd to be on hand, the adrenaline will be flowing for both Garnett has his teammates.
While Minnesota has just 12 wins this season, they’ve gotten glimpses of their future. Andrew Wiggins showed some of his skills against Houston last time out. Wiggins scored 30 points in the near upset of Houston.
Fellow young teammate Gorgui Dieng also had a great game as he scored 7 points, dished out 4 assists and grabbed 14 rebounds.
It’s performances like those that are giving the Minnesota front office a reason to believe.

PG Ricky Rubio has also been stellar since returning from his injury. Rubio nearly hit a triple-double against Houston as he scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists.
