The NL East has basically been a two team battle the last few seasons with the Mets and the Phillies going down to the wire. The question this year is can anyone else in the division stay in the race long enough to challenge for the top spot.

America’s Team was the model of consistency between 1991 and 2005, winning 14 division titles, 4 National League pennants, and 1 World Series in that span. Anchored by dominant pitching staffs and led by the legendary Bobby Cox, the Braves were the class of the NL year after year. The tide has shifted, however, and Atlanta has been unable to punch its ticket to the post-season for three seasons running.
The first two rounds of the 2009 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament are in the books and how sweet it was. After all the smoke has cleared, there are sixteen teams left standing. There were some minor upsets, but for the most part the teams that advanced are pretty much who everyone expected. Team USA is battered, but not broken
Team USA has advanced to the Semifinals of the World Baseball Classic despite suffering an avalanche of injuries.
There are only four teams left in the Classic as the semifinals get ready to start Saturday night in Los Angeles with Venezuela playing Korea at 9 pm ET.
