The good news is that the turmoil they faced just a year ago should result in gained experience and a better campaign in 2015-16.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2015 Jacksonville Jaguars\u00a0Odds to win the 2016 Super Bowl: 150\/1<\/strong> The Jaguars’ young players enter the new year learning a new offense yet again, so it’s crucial that Blake Bortles is able to pick up on the intricacies of the system early.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Let’s take a look at each game on Jacksonville’s\u00a0schedule and determine whether or not to bet over or under on the 5.5\u00a0games predicted for this group this year.<\/p>\n Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 13 vs. Carolina (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Week1 opens for the Jags against the Panthers — te\u00a0NFC South champs from a season ago. But let’s be honest: Carolina was\u00a07-8-1 in the NFL’s\u00a0worst division. It also defeated a Cardinals squad in the postseason\u00a0that was sans\u00a0a\u00a0starting tailback — not to mention its fourth QB.\u00a0This wont’ be an easy win, but let’s consider this a positive start to an improved season — victory Jax.<\/p>\n Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 vs. Miami (4:05 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n 2014’s contest proved to be\u00a0a bizarre\u00a0game because the D\u00a0held Miami\u00a0to only\u00a013, but the offensive side of the ball\u00a0allowed 14 on two different\u00a0interceptions TDs.\u00a0Miami should also be improved. Sorry, Jacksonville. No victory\u00a0here.<\/p>\n Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 27 @ New England (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n If the Jaguars get their way — and more importantly, if the NFL gets its<\/i> way — Tom Brady will not play in this game. That will make it a close contest. Unfortunately, it’s still going to be a tough battle for a team getting used to a young roster — even if the opposing all-world QB is nowhere to be seen.<\/p>\n Week 4: Sunday, Oct. 4 @\u00a0Indianapolis (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Jacksonville has been losers in\u00a0five straight to Indianapolis.\u00a0And it hasn’t even been close.\u00a0Indy could very well double up the Jaguars in this one. Prepare yourselves, Jacksonville. You’ve been warned.<\/p>\n Week 5: Sunday, Oct. 11 @\u00a0Tampa Bay (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n If there’s any game early in the season that you should count on a blowout win from Jacksonville, this is it. Unless Jameis Winston has single-handedly turned around this organization, there’s still going to be plenty of hiccups for the Bucs to overcome at this point in the process.<\/p>\n Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 18 vs. Houston (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Like Jacksonville, the Houston Texans are going to be improved this season. Not likely.<\/p>\n Week 7: Sunday, Oct. 25 vs. Buffalo (9:30 AM — London)<\/strong><\/p>\n Neutral field. Overseason. We like Jax in this one. All is fair in London, but Jacksonville versus Buffalo on a neutral field seems to favor Jax at this point in the process.<\/p>\n Week 9: Sunday, Nov. 8 @ New York Jets (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Exiting the bye week, we’ve got the New York Jets on the docket. Unless NYJ has magically found a solution at quarterback — or unless Geno Smith has shockingly become that answer — Jacksonville should take advantage of a team in flux.<\/p>\n Week 10: Sunday, Nov. 15 @ Baltimore (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Jacksonville\u00a0did a solid\u00a0job containing\u00a0Justin Forsett\u00a0last season. In fact, if it weren’t for a few specific drops on offense here or there, they may have taken down the Raves. Unfortunately, this is a bad time of year to face Joe Flacco, which means bad news for the Jags.<\/p>\n Week 11: Thursday, Nov. 19 vs. Tennessee (8:25 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n There aren’t many teams in the NFL that are going to struggle with the Tennessee Titans this season. Although the Jags would have been one of those teams last year, don’t count on it in 2015-16. Look for a double-digit win here.<\/p>\n Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 29 vs. San Diego (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Chargers have a lot of questions regarding their future and the state of their organization. But the only one that matters here is: Will they beat the Jags in Week 12? At this juncture, we’ll say yes. Sorry, Jacksonville. That could change if this team is struggling entering Week 12.<\/p>\n Week 13: Sunday, Dec. 6 @\u00a0Tennessee (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Jacksonville\u00a0has\u00a0only gone a\u00a0season without a loss to the Titans\u00a0only twice (1997 and 2005), but it has a chance to do just that in 2015-16. Let’s be bold. Jacksonville sweeps the series.<\/p>\n Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 13 vs. Indianapolis (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Indianapolis has seemingly prepared for a shot at Super Bowl 50.\u00a0But it’s gonna\u00a0have\u00a0to be careful how it\u00a0plays its older late in the year. That’s going to determine whether or not those players participate in this contest, but chances are, at least one or two of those guys see time early. And regardless, Andrew Luck isn’t likely to sit. Bad news for Jacksonville.<\/p>\n Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 20 vs. Atlanta (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n Atlanta has struggled with its defense the past few years. That’s good news for Jacksonville.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Unless there’s a shift coming that we simply don’t see right now, look for Jacksonville to take advantage late in the year. Possibly by double digits.<\/p>\n Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 27 @ New Orleans (1 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n I like the Jags’ chances in this one, but New Orleans is too tough to bet against. Let’s go with a high-scoring contest (possibly in the 30s), but a Saints victory by fewer than seven points.<\/p>\n Week 17: Sunday, Jan. 3, at Houston, 1 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n At 7-8 (based on our projections), this gives the Jaguars one last chance to hit .500. Unfortunately, they’ll have to settle for defeating the win total projections from Vegas (5.5), because we have them dropping the final game of the season.<\/p>\n The Jaguars have a legitimate change to more than double their win total from a season ago, going 7-9. A soft schedule\u00a0will\u00a0also help, but we should see improvements from the youngsters along the way as well.<\/p>\n\n
