Let\u2019s take a look.<\/p>\n The Cowboys finally locked up Dez Bryant to a long-term contract \u2013 there was no way they could have started the season without him especially since DeMarco Murray left for greener pastures. With Tony Romo entering off one of his best seasons as a pro (34 TDs and 9 Interceptions, 70% completion percentage and 8.5 yards per pass) it\u2019s tough not to get excited about what\u2019s in store for the Dallas passing game.<\/p>\n Dez has officially arrived in the elite class of NFL WRs \u2013 he is top-three in the game \u2013 easily. Bryant scored 16 times last year, had 88 catches and 1,320 yards \u2013 a true difference maker that every contending team absolutely needs. Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams and Jason Witten still exist in Romo\u2019s arsenal to catch whatever Dez doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The biggest question mark surrounding the Cowboys is: How are they going to make up for the loss of DeMarco Murray, who totaled an NFL-best 2,261 yards from scrimmage including league highs of 392 carries, 1,845 yards rushing and 14 rushing touchdowns. Many will point to Dallas\u2019s superb offensive line for Murray\u2019s success and feel that any running back put behind that line will find some room.<\/p>\n Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar will try to prove them right. Randle, despite issues with the law this past offseason should get the majority of the work – he was good in his limited touches last year and relishes the opportunity to be the man in Dallas this year. McFadden doesn’t scare anyone and Dunbar is an unknown commodity so Randle, barring anymore incidents will be leaned upon heavily to keep the pressure off Romo and to gain chunks of yards.<\/p>\n Defensively, expect the Cowboys to be their typically average self, although linebacker Sean Lee will be back from an injury that sidelined him last year. Former first-round bust Rolando McClain was a revelation last year for this team and hopes are that he can keep his head in the game for one, maybe two more years. Stud Greg Hardy was brought in as well to bolster a defensive line that had its issues last year. Hardy\u2019s suspension for domestic violence was reduces from 10 to 4 games meaning that he will be suiting up for the Cowboys \u00be of the season – that\u2019s a great thing.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Simply put the Cowboys should have an OK defense this year \u2013 a good compliment to an offense that has potential to light up the league.<\/p>\n Dallas\u2019 defense likely won\u2019t win them a lot of games, but it won\u2019t lose them many either.<\/p>\n The Cowboys finished 12-4 last year when the critics thought they\u2019d be lucky to be a .500 team. I think they\u2019ll be lucky to get 12 wins this year \u2013 the Giants have improved, the Eagles should be a tougher out and the schedule is that much harder after a successful 2014 campaign.<\/p>\n I see the Cowboys as a 10-6 team this year \u2013 good enough to claim the NFC East in a dogfight with the Giants. As for the playoffs, the defense looks like an Achilles heel right now \u2013 not good enough to keep up with the elite in the NFL.
