All eight teams looked extremely impressive in their victories setting up some great matchups in this next round. These next four games are going to be like watching two heavyweights slug it out until one of them drops. Here are my predictions for the Elite Eight.

Here Are My Predictions For The Next Four Games Both Even Up And Against The Spread (ATS)

Connecticut -5.5 vs. Missouri

Mizzou played the role of spoiler by knocking out a hot Memphis team. I was very impressed with the pressure these Tigers were able to apply, completely shutting down those other Tigers. UConn was equally impressive, easily handling Purdue. The Huskies will prove to be just a little more faster and stronger winning this game by 8.

Uconn / Missouri Prediction: Uconn -5.5

Get Tickets Now!

Pittsburgh -2.5 vs. Villanova

Pitt was able to get off the Sweet 16 schneid beating a scrappy Xavier team that refused to go down without a fight, while ‘Nova completely dismantled an overmatched Duke ball club. These two teams are very familiar with each other so there will be no surprises in this one. Going down to the wire, the Wildcats find a way to come out on top, winning by 2.

Pitt/ Nova Prediction: Nova +2.5

North Carolina -7.5 vs. Oklahoma

Both these teams have basically coasted through the first three rounds of this tournament winning every game by double digits. Although the Sooners were especially impressive beating a very good Syracuse team, North Carolina with a healthy Ty Lawson look almost unbeatable. The question in this one will be, “how much” will the Tar Heels win by, and my answer is 10.

UNC / OU Prediction: Tar Heels -7.5

Louisville -6.5 vs. Michigan State

The Cardinals are the number one overall seed, and other than a minor scare from Sienna have successfully played the part. Michigan State handled a very good USC team and came from behind to beat Kansas, so they are battled tested. The Spartans will find away to keep this one close, but Louisville is just too good to go down in this round. Take the Cardinals in a close one as they win by 3.

L-Ville / MSU Prediction: Michigan St. +6.5

With a few exceptions, the higher seeds have dominated this year’s tournament by playing up to their abilities and beating the teams they were supposed to.

For the most part this will hold true in this round as well with three out of four number 1 seeds advancing to the Final Four.

Bet on the Elite 8 Matchups at JustBet.com >>>

David Schwab is a regular contributor to the Cappers Picks Blog.
