He is coming off his best start with seven shutout innings against Baltimore.<\/p>\n Like a lot of mediocre pitchers he can look pretty good when he avoids walks and the long ball. That is key with Nelson Cruz on the other side.<\/p>\n The Mariners made it to .500 but have proceeded to drop the last 5 games. As a result they are close to last than first in the AL West.<\/p>\n Needless to say things are not working out as hoped which has to be frustrating given free agent signee Nelson Cruz has worked out brilliantly.<\/p>\n His 18 homers have helped make the M\u2019s one of the more powerful teams in the league but they are still just 29th in runs scored.
