This series didn\u2019t look like it would be all that taxing but Houston has been red hot and the Padres only took one of three at home over the weekend. This is the exact kind of series that will help determine if they are really a threat or just improved. This is a chance to make a statement.<\/p>\n Bringing in James Shields was a strong move by the Padres. So far his numbers are good but he can be even better. He is a good pitcher to back on Monday as he seems to already be enjoying the pitcher friendliness of PetCo Park – his ERA at home is just 1.29. <\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63745&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n He has a chance to face a lineup with a lot of holes in it and a lot of swing and miss guys.
