The thing that killed this normally sound team was turnovers as they outshot the Celtics including making all of their free throws. Memphis is a great candidate to bounce back but Washington is no pushover.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n They will need a return to form of Marc Gasol who was held under 10 points in the loss and they definitely need more from Courtney Lee. This game looks like just a hiccup but they are still on the road.<\/p>\n Mike Conley led with 20 points but he also had more turnovers than assists.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Its funny because he combined that with a great shooting night (9 for 12) which makes it clear they need him in more of a facilitator role than a scorer.<\/p>\n Tony Allen was second on the team in scoring and that also is rare thing for Memphis. Known as a defensive stopper he is not a great shooter and if he is getting lots of opportunities it can take the team out of rhythm.<\/p>\n The Wizards continue to struggle with consistency.<\/p>\n They snapped their long losing streak but they are just 3-2 over their past five and Memphis coming to town is not going to be easy.<\/p>\n However, I do think they can match up with the Grizzlies because they have quality size up front. The question is whether they can get the production they need from their backcourt duo.<\/p>\n John Wall and Bradley Beal have not been tearing up the nets lately and few others on the team are go to scorers.<\/p>\n Wall is leading the team but his scoring average is down to 16ppg.<\/p>\n Its nice that he is averaging a double-double but for this team to be at its best he needs to be more aggressive. When you look at the Wizards numbers it looks like they are managing minutes to be fresh during the playoffs.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n It is not a bad strategy but it doesn\u2019t hide the fact that Wall and Beal have not been shooting well all season.<\/p>\n This is just not a good spot for Memphis.<\/p>\n\n
