They have just the one loss, to Virginia, and have some nice wins including Oklahoma State on the road and against Iowa State on a neutral court.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n This is a pretty talented team and most importantly they are healthy heading into the regular season – their best player Dez Wells has only played 6 games this season but got back into the lineup in their most recent game against Oakland.<\/p>\n He is critical to the the team\u2019s long term success.<\/p>\n Wells\u2019 absence has made it easier for freshman Melo Trimble to get comfortable at the college level.<\/p>\n He is averaging 15ppg and when you pair him with Jake Layman and Wells on the perimeter you have a versatile attack.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The question for the Terps this season is going to be whether they have enough inside.<\/p>\n None of their inside players produce all that much but it hasn\u2019t hurt them much. The key is those guys are going to have to be physical on the boards.<\/p>\n They can get the scoring elsewhere.<\/p>\n It is not a familiar site to see MSU have so many losses this early in the season. This team lost a ton from last year\u2019s team and the roster they have now just doesn\u2019t have enough offense I think to cruise.<\/p>\n They are going to have to grind out most games in the conference forcing other teams to match their level of physicality and intensity.<\/p>\n That is not to say their are not talented players on this team but I don\u2019t see anyone who is going to be take in the first round of next year\u2019s NBA draft.<\/p>\n The Spartans rely heavily on the trio of Travis Trice, Denzel Valentine and Brandon Dawson.<\/p>\n Dawson is one of the best rebounders in the nation (especially for a guy only 6\u20196\u201d); Trice can be a dangerous shooter; and Valentine has a nice, diverse game.<\/p>\n All three are MSU calibre but the rest of the team is pretty light. <\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=64759&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Dawson is questionable for this one and his status is important given the Spartans lack of depth inside.<\/p>\n It is tough to call the outright upset here but I am going for it.<\/p>\n\n
