Detroit comes into this game as winners of three straight games while the Bears are in terrible shape, but they\u2019re mixing things up this week.<\/p>\n

Jay Cutler is out and Jimmy Clausen is probable to start.<\/p>\n
Nothing has been going right for the Bears this season, but I expect them to rally up this week and at least come close to winning. The media has been crushing this team; so winning without Cutler would be huge.<\/p>\n

Chicago\u2019s offense is averaging 21.1 PPG (19th), 246.9 PYPG (13th) and 91.3 RYPG (26th). Cutler has thrown for a lot of yards, but he turns it over way too much and makes terrible mistakes at the worst time.<\/p>\n
This is a tough spot for Clausen to get the start because the Lions defense comes into this game allowing an average of 17.0 PPG (1st), 63.8 RYPG (1st) and 236.5 PYPG (15th). Clausen will have to air it out to win.<\/p>\n
Marshall is out, so Clausen will have one less weapon, but he still has Forte and Jeffrey. Chicago needs to step up on defense as well if they want to have a chance at keeping this game respectable.<\/p>\n
The Bears allow 29.2 PPG (32nd), 272.2 PYPG (31st) and 110.3 RYPG (15th). It\u2019s crazy how bad the Bears are on defense the past couple years. They need to play great against an inconsistent Lions offense.<\/p>\n

With Detroit you either get 30+ points out of them or they throw up a complete dud. The Lions are only picking up an average of 20.1 PPG (23rd), 257.1 PYPG (9th) and 83.8 RYPG (30th) on offense this year.<\/p>\n
Stafford has been inconsistent and the Bears have a good enough run defense to stop the Lions even with Bush back in the mix. Chicago has to focus on shutting down Calvin Johnson to stay close in this one.<\/p>\n

If you believe that the team will rally around Clausen and get a win to quiet the media the spread offers value.<\/p>\n

Chicago could just as easily come out and get crushed at home against a division rival, but I think they\u2019ll do everything they can to keep this close. It won\u2019t be pretty, but the Bears cover ATS at home.<\/p>\n
The Lions have won the last three H2H games in the series, but only one of them by 9+ points. This is a big spread between division rivals and as bad as the Bears have been this is a chance to quiet the critics a bit.<\/p>\n
