They definitely can\u2019t afford losing to TB, but the question is will they cover?<\/p>\n
Tampa actually had a 10 point lead in their last two games, but they couldn\u2019t win either. This team is just brutal and it doesn\u2019t seem who they play at QB the offense can\u2019t build any sort of consistency.<\/p>\n

Josh McCown is back in at QB currently and he hasn\u2019t been playing good. What\u2019s even worse is that the run game ranks even worse. TB is averaging 18.3 PPG (28th), 230.3 PYPG (18th) and 83.2 RYPG (29th).<\/p>\n
With the offense in shambles they now have to play against the Lions defense at Ford Field. Detroit comes into this game giving up an average of 17.2 PPG (1st), 235.0 PYPG (12th) and 65.9 RYPG (9th).<\/p>\n
TB won\u2019t be able to run the football and McCown won\u2019t shred any secondary let alone Detroit\u2019s despite the fact that the Lions have some issues in pass coverage. I expect the Lions defense to dominate.<\/p>\n

Detroit will limit TB, but to cover a spread this big they need to score some points as well. The Lions have been sluggish on offense, but they did break out for 34 points last week in a win over the Bears.<\/p>\n
Even with the outburst the Lions offense averages 19.2 PPG (26th), 262.7 PYPG (9th) and 81.7 RYPG (30th). I think they\u2019ll have no problem piling up the yards on TB, but they have to convert drives into TD\u2019s.<\/p>\n
The Bucs are below average in most defensive statistical categories. They\u2019re allowing opposing teams to average 26.2 PPG (23rd), 245.2 PYPG (22nd) and 116.0 RYPG (18th). Detroit should put up 30+ points.<\/p>\n
Most of the action is coming in on the Lions to cover, which doesn\u2019t surprise me. <\/p>\n

I hate siding with the public, but in this case you either have to bet on the Lions ATS or you have to pass on this game.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay actually beat the Lions last season in Detroit (24-21), but look for the Lions to get revenge on a team that\u2019s a complete mess. Other than Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson this Bucs offense is terrible.<\/p>\n

Detroit\u2019s defense likes to feast on weaker opponents and this is an important game. If the Lions weren’t in the position that they are I may not like them as much, but this is a game they need to dominate in.<\/p>\n
