They got back to stifling defensive play that has defined this team and the offense did just enough to post the win.<\/p>\n Baltimore\u2019s defense has been very good this year \u2013 they weren\u2019t great in Weeks 8 and 9 and the Ravens lost.<\/p>\n But if Week 10 is any indication the Ravens seemed to have righted the ship and should be formidable yet again as we head into this week. Against the Titans the Ravens recorded five sacks and allowed just 45 yards of offense against in the second half. Simply put, if the defense performs, the Ravens win \u2013 they have allowed just over 11 points per game in their wins.<\/p>\n If the defense falters, Baltimore loses \u2013 they have surrendered over 28 points per game in their losses.<\/p>\n The Ravens are just 21st in the league against the pass allowing 251 yards per game \u2013 Drew Brees figures to be a strong test for a unit that will be missing their best cover-guy Jimmy Smith who was sent to IR earlier this year.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Baltimore\u2019s offense has been OK \u2013 nothing special so far this year.<\/p>\n Joe Flacco has been as Jekyll and Hyde a QB as there has been in the NFL \u2013 particularly on the road. We just never know what we are going to get from Flacco but off a bye, you\u2019d have to hope that he and his mates have figured a few things out. Somehow the Ravens are 12th in the league in passing \u2013 252 yards per game but at times it sure doesn\u2019t look like it.<\/p>\n Jimmy Smith struggled mightily before the bye \u2013 he has to get back to dominating, Torrey Smith has been invisible at times and a finally healthy Owen Daniels needs to be utilized more to ensure offensive success for the Ravens.<\/p>\n Thank goodness for Justin Forsett who has taken over the starting role in the Ravens backfield. He has been sensational for Baltimore this year \u2013 arguably their offensive MVP.<\/p>\n The New Orleans Saints home town mystique is a thing of the past \u2013 two straight losses at the Superdome has the Saints searching for answers as we head into the stretch run.<\/p>\n Last week was a 27-10 loss to the previously struggling Cincinnati Bengals \u2013 the defense was poor and Drew Brees and company definitely didn\u2019t look like themselves.<\/p>\n Not much went well for New Orleans last week \u2013 Drew Brees completed 33 of 41 passes for just 255 yards and the previously scorching Mark Ingram went for only 67 yards on 23 carries against Cincinnati\u2019s questionable defense.<\/p>\n Brees has looked out of sorts for sure and when he isn\u2019t on top of his game the whole New Orleans offense looks out of place.<\/p>\n Brees and the passing game still rank third in the NFL with 299.8 yards per game and Jimmy Graham, Kenny Stills and Marques Colston still exist – so there is hope that this team can turn things around.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The key for the Saints may be a struggling defense that made Andy Dalton look stellar and that made a household name of Jeremy Hill last week. Is there a more over-rated defensive coordinator in the NFL than Rob Ryan?<\/p>\n Off a game in which Andy Dalton\u2019s passer rating was \u201c2\u201d, the Saints allowed his to go off and record a \u201c144\u201d passer rating! They also allowed Jeremy Hill 150+ yards rushing and a team that scored 3 points against Cleveland score 27.<\/p>\n The Saints defense isn\u2019t very good folks \u2013 it will be up to a struggling Drew Brees on Monday night to get it done.<\/p>\n \u2022 NO are 25-9 ATS in their last 34 home games. The Ravens are 2-3 ATS on the road this year while the Saints are just 2-3 ATS at home. It is pretty hard to trust the New Orleans Saints right now \u2013 the defense is crumbling and Drew Brees seems to have lost all of his mojo.<\/p>\n Baltimore, off their bye would have been watching what the Bengals did last week and will emulate their game plan this week.<\/p>\n\n
