Seattle is finally running the ball with confidence and the defense seems to have turned a corner in the last couple of weeks.<\/p>\n Absent during Seattle\u2019s two game losing streak earlier this year against the Cowboys and the Rams was a running game that was tops in the NFL last year. But recent games have seen them return to a reliance on a rushing attack.<\/p>\n This fact is best exemplified but their 38-17 win against the Giants in Week 10 \u2013 the team went off for 350 yards on the ground \u2013 140 yards and 4 TDs from Marshawn Lynch and 107 yards from Russell Wilson. Lynch now has six TDs in his last two games and Wilson has three-100+yards on the ground this year.<\/p>\n Seattle\u2019s passing attack hasn\u2019t been great but it hasn\u2019t had to be. Expect the rushers to play a key roll again Sunday against KC\u2019s 19th ranked run defense allowing 115 yards per game.<\/p>\n As mentioned the Seahawks defense has re-emerged in the last three games \u2013 giving up a total of 43 points in their last three games combined. Over that span they have created seven turnovers \u2013 something sadly lacking in Seattle\u2019s first six games of the season.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The key for Seattle will to be to stop Jamaal Charles \u2013 they have been one of the best at stopping the run this year \u2013 allowing about 80 yards per game to their opposition on the ground. The Hawks are getting healthier on defense as well and the results are getting better because of it.<\/p>\n The Kansas City Chiefs have won four straight games \u2013 their success is also tied to the running game. Charles is arguably the only real threat on the KC offense \u2013 teams stack the box against him and he is still one of the best pure runners in the game.<\/p>\n He has eight TDs on the year despite missing a couple of games. It begs the question \u2013 how is this team still successful with one real threat on offense?<\/p>\n Charles will be in tough this week against one of the best run defenses in the NFL the last couple of years. This game could come down to KC\u2019s average passing game – not the news fans of the Chiefs want to hear.<\/p>\n Alex Smith won`t lose you a game but it is awfully difficult to trust him to win you a game either.<\/p>\n It it`s not Jamaal Charles, the onus will be on the Chiefs defense on Sunday. The team has been average against the run but best in the NFL versus the pass.
