Raanta went 8-1-2 with a 2.27 GAA in 11 appearances in relief of Crawford last season after the Blackhawks\u2019 starting netminder suffered a groin injury Dec. 8. Included in that stretch was a 3-1 win over these very Predators in which Raanta stopped 27 shots.<\/p>\n

The Blackhawks went on to lose the next three games in the series, but beat the Predators on Saturday by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Captain Jonathan Toews scored the winning goal while short-handed in a game in which Crawford made 19 saves. The Blackhawks outshot the Predators 37-20 in that one, which came on the second night of a back-to-back for Nashville.<\/p>\n
As for the Predators, they are the only Western Conference team other than the Blackhawks without a regulation loss. In their last game, they defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-3 in a shootout behind a solid performance by defenseman Ryan Ellis, who scored the winner in the shootout after recording a career-high three points with a goal and two assists.<\/p>\n
