Will Washington provide the shock of the year thus far or will Dallas keep the roll going?<\/p>\n Let\u2019s break it down.<\/p>\n The oddsmakers certainly aren\u2019t giving the Redskins a whole lotta love this week – they are 9 1\/2 point underdogs and seemingly rightfully so. The Skins are coming off a 19-17 win against Tennessee but the win was hardly inspiring.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Kirk Cousins was benched after an utterly ineffective first half and the underwhelming Colt McCoy was thrust into action. McCoy was OK in guiding the Skins back for the win but he is a third string QB for a reason \u2013 he\u2019s just not that great.<\/p>\n There is a chance that RG3 could return to action this week but it is unlikely meaning that Cousins and his nine interceptions so far (4 in his last 6 quarters of action) or McCoy will start on Monday \u2013 ugh!<\/p>\n Washington\u2019s defense has been a surprise this season \u2013 they certainly aren\u2019t the reason the team is 2-5. The Skins 12th ranked rushing defense will have their hands full with DeMarco Murray and company and the pass defense will be tasked with slowing the efficient and effective Tony Romo and his quality stable of pass catchers \u2013 Dez Bryant and Terrence Williams.<\/p>\n The Skins are allowing just 218 yards per game through the air but they have yet to face the quality they are about to face this week.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Simply put, the advantage goes to Dallas\u2019s offense over Washington\u2019s OK defense.<\/p>\n I like may have been waiting for the Dallas collapse \u2013 but it doesn\u2019t appear as though that is going to come any time soon.<\/p>\n DeMarco Murray is officially the record holder for consecutive 100+ rushing yards per game to start a season \u2013 seven straight after a 128 yard rushing effort against the Giants last week. Murray and the Cowboys bring the league\u2019s beat rushing offense into Monday night\u2019s game \u2013 awfully hard to stop even for some of the best run-stopping units like the Seattle Seahawks.<\/p>\n And then there\u2019s Tony Romo who threw for 279 yards and three TDs last week. Romo is gladly being overshadowed by Murray. He is quietly putting up Pro-Bowl numbers, he is taking care of the ball and he is distributing the ball to a stellar group of receivers. Heck even Gavin Escobar caught two TDs last week.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Dallas continues to play solid defense \u2013 the offense can take some of the credit as teams are being forced to play from behind and are frequently being dominated in the time of possession battles.<\/p>\n \u2022 Over is 11-3-1 in WAS last 15 games in Week 8. The Redskins are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games at Dallas. That said the Skins have a real chance of heading into Monday night\u2019s game with their third string quarterback. To beat the Cowboys right now \u2013 a team has to be at the top of their game.<\/p>\n Washington without a top tier pivot certainly won\u2019t be at the top of their game.<\/p>\n\n
