One of these teams will be below .500 on Sunday night \u2013 looking up at the multitude of teams they will have to leapfrog just to qualify for the playoffs \u2013 incredible.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t blame Russell Wilson for Seattle\u2019s second consecutive loss \u2013 he threw for 311 yards and rushed for 106 yards in Seattle\u2019s Week 7 228-26 loss to the Rams. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to record at least 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in one game.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Bad discipline and a couple of crazy plays on special teams sunk the Hawks as well as 10 more penalties \u2013 an issue that has plagued Seattle all season long.<\/p>\n The good news is that the lack of discipline is something that can be fixed. There is still little denying the talent that Seattle trots out in the field on a weekly basis.<\/p>\n Marshawn Lynch is due for a monster game, Doug Baldwin looked like the second coming of Steve Largent this past Sunday and Russell Wilson is\u2026 Russell Wilson.<\/p>\n Some more good news comes in the form of their opposition this Sunday. Carolina owns the seventh worst run defense in the NFL and they are the seventh worst total defense in the league. The Hawks have looked out of sync offensively lately but a date with the Panthers may be just what the doctor ordered.<\/p>\n Defensively the Hawks looked OK last week after getting exposed the week before against Dallas. The Hawks held the Rams to 272 yards of offense and despite a number of starters forced to sit with injuries; this unit looked to be on the road back to dominance.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Let\u2019s be honest \u2013 the Panthers looked awful last week in their 38-17 loss to the Packers \u2013 a team that Seattle has already beaten this year. Carolina\u2019s defense was battered again by Aaron Rodgers who completed a staggering 19-of22 passes for 255 yards and three TDs.<\/p>\n The run defense allowed previously unflattering Green Bay rushers 172 yards in the loss \u2013 not a good sign when the Seahawks are coming to town.<\/p>\n It all boils down to the Panthers defense not keeping the team in games this year. Carolina is allowing 27.8 points per game \u2013 almost double what they allowed last season and leaving games up to Cam Newton and his underwhelming offense to get it done.<\/p>\n And when Cam struggles, the team loses as witnessed by his 17-of-31 for 205 yard effort last week.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not like the running game is going to help! Expect the Panthers and their defense to be the cure that the Seahawks have been craving the last two weeks.
