San Diego has dominated this H2H series in recent years, as they\u2019ve gone 4-1 (2-2 ATS). Oakland did pick up a win over the Chargers last season at home, but this Raiders team has been horrible. <\/p>\n
The Raiders have already fired their coach and have basically thrown in the towel. San Diego on the other hand is out to a hot start, which is rare, as SD is a team that normally struggles until the final few weeks.<\/p>\n

Ryan Matthews is still out and while he\u2019s out the Chargers have no run game (88.0 RYPG \u2013 27th). The good news is that Philip Rivers has been playing great again this season even with limited weapons.<\/p>\n
SD is averaging 26.6 PPG (9th) and 281.2 PYPG (7th). This will be a good test for Rivers, as Oakland ranks 5th against the pass (207.0 PYPG). Oakland also gives up 158.2 RYPG (31st) and 25.8 PPG (22nd).<\/p>\n

The reason I expect the Chargers will cover this game is because of their defense. San Diego has quietly put up great numbers. They\u2019re allowing 12.6 PPG (1st), 194.8 PYPG (2nd) and 96.0 RYPG (9th).<\/p>\n
Oakland is having trouble moving the football and this is the best defense they\u2019ve played yet. Derek Carr is struggling and the Raiders experiment with two veteran RB\u2019s (Jones-Drew & McFadden) isn\u2019t working.<\/p>\n
Offensively, the Raiders are picking up 12.8 PPG (32nd), 208.5 PYPG (25th) and 61.5 RYPG (32nd). It\u2019s hard to score points when you\u2019re averaging less than 300 offensive YPG, especially against a good defense.<\/p>\n
The schedule gets a lot tougher for the Chargers down the stretch this season, so they can\u2019t afford losing big divisional match-ups against a winless Raiders team even though they\u2019re on the road.<\/p>\n
