2014 NASCAR SPRINT CUP STANDINGS<\/a>\u00a0(Link)<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\nSaturday night\u2019s race is slated to get underway at 7:45 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on ABC.<\/p>\n
Joey Logano assured the No. 22 team a spot in the next round of the Chase with a victory last week at Kansas. Kyle Larson ended-up in the middle of things once again by taking second and Kyle Busch revitalized his title chances by finishing third.<\/p>\n
The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Saturday night\u2019s race based on odds provided by Bovada.<\/p>\n
The Favorite (odd of less than 10\/1)<\/h3>\n
There was no Sprint Cup driver hotter than Brad Keselowski<\/strong> when this Chase first got underway and he carried that momentum into this round with a victory at Chicago and a second-place finish at Dover.<\/p>\nThe No. 2 car suddenly finds itself in almost a must-win scenario heading into Charlotte after stumbling all the way to 36th<\/sup> in last week\u2019s race.<\/p>\nUnder NASCAR\u2019s new format for the Chase where the starting points are the same for all the remaining drivers at the beginning of each new round, last week\u2019s run has dropped this team all the way to 10th<\/sup> in the current standings.<\/p>\n[dfads params=’groups=63791&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n
One of the main things that Keselowski has going for himself this Saturday night is that he comes into this race as the defending champ.<\/p>\n
The Contender (odds from 10\/1 to 19\/1)<\/h3>\n
Kyle Busch<\/strong> moved into second-place in the current Sprint Cup standings after last week\u2019s second-place finish which only adds even more value to his attractive 14\/1 odds to win this race.<\/p>\nThe No. 18 car has only made its way to Victory Lane once this season but if it can double that number on Saturday night it would be locked into the next round of the Chase.<\/p>\n
Busch loses a bit of his value this week given that he has never won a Sprint Cup point race at this track, but he did contend in last year\u2019s race with a fifth-place finish.<\/p>\n
He has actually placed in the top five in four of his last six Sprint Cup point races at this track.<\/p>\n
The Longshot (odds 20\/1 or greater)<\/h3>\n
Last week I went with Carl Edwards<\/strong> as my top longshot pick at 33\/1 and he came close to paying-off with a fourth-place finish.<\/p>\nThe No. 99 car still has gotten no respect as a legitimate contender for Saturday night\u2019s race with his odds once again set at 33\/1.<\/p>\n
This team is suddenly just one win away from possibly becoming one of the top favorites for this year\u2019s title, which in of itself, adds tremendous value to these odds.<\/p>\n
Edwards adds even more value after placing fourth in the first race at Charlotte this season.<\/p>\n
