Cappers Picks provides free College football handicapping tips all season long. <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>NCAA Football Spreads<\/h3>\n<p><strong>When: Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 12 p.m. EST<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Where: Memorial Stadium<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> TV: ESPN2<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> College Football LINE: -10 (Illinois)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> College Football O\/U: 58<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <a title=\"Sportsbook Bonuses\" href=\"https:\/\/www.capperspicks.com\/blog\/sportsbooks\/bonuses-2014-football-betting-sign-up-offers-15814\/\">***2014 CFB\u00a0BONUSES***<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> [dfads params=&#8217;groups=63740&amp;limit=1&amp;return_javascript=0&#8242;]<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wes Lunt is expected to return at quarterback when Illinois takes on Purdue Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, just in time for the &#8220;The Battle of the Cannon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purdue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Boilermakers (2-3) are off to a middling start and will head to Memorial Stadium in search of their first road win since November of 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue has struggled to move the ball thus far, as they\u2019ve been held to 17 or less points in three of their last four games.<\/p>\n<p>They are in desperate need of a playmaker other than quarterback Danny Etling who has thrown five interceptions to six touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Part of that is due to the fact that the Boilermakers have become a one-dimensional offense, relying mainly on the pass versus a ground game that is averaging less than four yards per carry.<\/p>\n<p>Case in point, senior running back Akeem Hunt is averaging a solid six yards per carry and has caught 18 passes.<\/p>\n<p>Defensively, Purdue is allowing 387.4 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and 13 sacks.<\/p>\n<p>[dfads params=&#8217;groups=66501&amp;limit=1&amp;return_javascript=0&#8242;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Illinois<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Fighting Illini (3-2) are unbeaten at home.<\/p>\n<p>They will look to inch one step closer to a bowl appearance as they are set to return quarterback Wes Lunt who missed last week with a knee injury.<\/p>\n<p>Lunt leads an Illinois passing game that\u2019s ranked 24th in the country, and it&#8217;s a good thing too, as the ground game is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry.<\/p>\n<p>The defense is a mess, though, allowing 80 points in the last two games.<\/p>\n<p>The Illini are allowing 468.6 yards per game and have forced seven turnovers and 12 sacks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 6 NCAA Football Spread Prediction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Purdue has looked more than a little less than impressive, and the Illini have been giving away points like it&#8217;s Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>The spread is 10 in favor if Illinois, and with Lunt looking like he is going to be back in the lineup, I&#8217;d have to go with the Illini.<\/p>\n<p>However, the safe bet here is on the total.
