East Lake will play 7,307 yards and was the second easiest par 70 on TOUR last season \u2013 the winner is going to have to go low! This tournament has belonged to elite ball strikers whose putters heat up at the right time \u2013 we can expect more of the same this week.<\/p>\n

2014 TOUR Championship Favorites:<\/h3>\n
Rory McIlroy 4\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nRory is the best player on the planet by far and despite two four-putts he finished T8 last week. Four-putts made me feel good about my game \u2013 thanks Rory! He finished T10 in his only previous start here and is in terrific form to say the least.<\/p>\n
Adam Scott 10\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nEven when he isn\u2019t on top of his game \u2013 he\u2019s still good \u2013 no worse than T16 in his last nine starts. Scott is an elite ball striker who will be in contention this week. \u2013 guaranteed. My only fear is that others have a little more spark than Adam.<\/p>\n

Rickie Fowler 11\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nIs coming off a T4 at the BMW and now has seven top 10s in his last eight starts. Fowler is knocking on the door and should be in the hunt this week.<\/p>\n
2014 TOUR Championship Contenders:<\/h3>\n
Jim Furyk 12\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nSomething has gotta give for Furyk \u2013 he\u2019s due \u2013 and has been for a while. His last win on TOUR came back in 2010 on this track. Furyk is coming off another good performance \u2013 a T4 at the BMW was his fifth top 10 in his last seven starts. I have picked Furyk a few times in the past \u2013 It\u2019s about time it pays off!<\/p>\n
Sergio Garcia 12\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nSuffered the dreaded snowman last week and still finished T4 but there is no doubt about Sergio\u2019s current form. He was T9 here last year \u2013 his fourth top 10 in eight tries on this track.<\/p>\n
Jordan Spieth 18\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nLooked good last week en route to a T8 at Cherry Hills \u2013 we all saw something in his game. He was T2 in his only start on this track \u2013 last year. Something tells me Spieth has a good week.<\/p>\n

Billy Horschel 20\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nThere\u2019s no hotter player right now. Although I usually don\u2019t like guys that won the week before but Horschel is the exception. He had a T2 in Boston and followed that with a win last week at the BMW. Nothing in his game suggests a drop-off is imminent.<\/p>\n
Tour Championship\u00a0Betting Sleepers (50\/1 or higher):<\/h3>\n
Morgan Hoffman 66\/1<\/strong><\/p>\nWith such a small field there isn\u2019t a whole lotta value out there expect for perhaps Morgan Hoffman. He is coming off a third in the BMW and looks a lot like Billy Horschel did last week at this time \u2013 scorching hot at exactly the right time. He plays East Lake for the first time but off a 62 and a 63 on the weekend at the BMW \u2013 he looks like by far the best value on the board.<\/p>\n
2014 TOUR Championship Free Golf Pick:<\/h3>\n
Yup \u2013 going with Jim Furyk at 12-1<\/strong> odds this week on a course that was the scene of his last victory on TOUR. Karma pays Jim and his backers off this week!<\/p>\nMy sleeper is Morgan Hoffman at 66\/1<\/strong> – and why not. He lit up the BMW on the weekend and could carry his momentum into this week.<\/p>\n
