In fact there is a reasonable sense of concern in Giants camp that the learning curve may stretch well into the Regular Season \u2013 not what Giants fans wanna hear.<\/p>\n With a bumbling passing game, newly acquires Rashad Jennings has been brought in to rebuild the Giants\u2019 awful rushing attack. He was terrific last season in Oakland and he has been the lone bright spot in camp for New York \u2013 but that\u2019s not saying a whole lot!<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n New York\u2019s defense looks on paper to have improved, which is a good thing for a team that won\u2019t have a whole lotta offensive support – Cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Walter Thurmond along with improving Prince Amukamara and veteran safety Antrel Rolle make up a decent secondary while veterans Jon Beason and Jason Pierre-Paul look good as we head into Week 1.<\/p>\n The Detroit Lions have a ton to prove \u2013 will they ever get over that hump? Offensively this team looks just fine \u2013 Matt Stafford off a 4,650 yard, 29 TD campaign, Calvin Johnson after his 110 catch, 1,494 yard, 12 TD year and Reggie Bush are legitimate threats \u2013 these three are capable of winning games all by themselves. Expect the Lions offense to shine under new Head Coach Jim Caldwell whose offensive philosophy is welcomed in the Motor City.<\/p>\n Detroit’s defensive front which consists of Ziggy Ansah (eight sacks), Ndamukong Suh (5 1\/2) and Nick Fairley (six) will likely have their way with a New York O-line that gave up 39 sacks last year. The Lions speed and tenacity is Taylor-made for the lack of mobility they are about to see in Mr. Eli Manning.<\/p>\n [dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n The Lions’ defense isn’t elite, but it likely won’t have to be Monday night.<\/p>\n \u2022 Under is 14-4 in NYG last 18 road games. There aren\u2019t a whole lot of people with a ton of confidence in the New York Giants heading into the season \u2013 count me as one of them! Eli looks slow and tentative, the O-line doesn\u2019t look like it has improved at all and the overall feeling around the team seems to be one of survival rather than that of thriving.<\/p>\n The Giants beat the Lions in Detroit last year \u2013 don\u2019t expect that to happen again.
