The MLB season is nearing the stretch run, and the front offices for each team have big decisions looming. There\u2019s still a long way to go in a season that\u2019s a marathon, not a sprint. With that said, it\u2019s these opinions we formulate that help us to build the foundation of a profitable final quarter. <\/p>\n
Here are the power rankings entering the 21st week of the MLB schedule, to help you with your baseball gambling<\/strong> bets this week.<\/p>\n 1. Los Angeles Angels (72-50)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Angels have officially caught the Athletics, and that\u2019s good enough reason to bump them up to the top spot in the rankings. The team just continues to rake, while the pitching staff has been good enough. Mike Trout has hit a bit of a rough patch, and Josh Hamilton asked for a day off on Sunday, but there\u2019s enough juice in the team\u2019s lineup to overcome the occasional rough patch.<\/p>\n 2. Oakland Athletics (73-51)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Athletics enter Week 21 on a five-game losing streak. The team\u2019s offense hasn\u2019t looked the same without Yoenis Cespedes, even if he wasn\u2019t an integral part of the group. The team\u2019s pitching rotation hasn\u2019t lived up to its billing in recent weeks. With all that said, it\u2019s hard to imagine they won\u2019t have things figured out by the time the postseason begins, and they\u2019ve built enough of a cushion so that won\u2019t be a problem.<\/p>\n 3. Los Angeles Dodgers (70-56)<\/strong><\/p>\n With all the big money the Dodgers have given out recently, the team still has to send out the occasional journeyman starter. That won\u2019t become a problem, though, until the Giants start figuring things out. The team can rake enough that it shouldn\u2019t be too much of an issue, at least not in the short term.<\/p>\n 4. Baltimore Orioles (70-52)<\/strong><\/p>\n In an AL East race that looked wide open for a long time, the Orioles now find themselves running away with the divisional lead. The team\u2019s seven-game lead in the AL East race is the widest gap in all of baseball. It would be nice if Chris Davis figured things out, and their catcher situation will be a problem in the playoffs, but things are rolling right now.<\/p>\n 5. Kansas City Royals (68-55)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Royals are just rolling right along, taking down any opponent in their path. The team\u2019s hot streak has even rubbed off on new acquisition Josh Willingham, who had a big Sunday. The team now finds itself atop the AL Central with a 1.5-game lead over the Tigers. How long they\u2019ll keep it up for is yet to be seen, but it\u2019s been fun while it\u2019s lasted.<\/p>\n 6. Washington Nationals (69-53)<\/strong><\/p>\n This was supposed to be the Braves\u2019 year, but the Nationals are now running away with the division. The team enters the week riding a six-game winning streak. It would be nice if Gio Gonzalez got back on track, and Ryan Zimmerman can\u2019t come back soon enough, but they\u2019re still as healthy as they\u2019ve been all season.<\/p>\n 7. Milwaukee Brewers (70-55)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Brewers have just kind of hung around all season, so some of the luster from their hot start has worn off. They\u2019re still solid ball, though regression is going to hit their bullpen and hit it hard sometime soon. Mike Fiers struck out 14 batters in an outing and looks like he\u2019ll be a good contributor to the team\u2019s starting staff. The Tigers handed out Miguel Cabrera bobbleheads this past week that identified him as the NL MVP. It\u2019s been that kind of year for the Tigers. Luckily for them, whatever bad karma they have going against them hasn\u2019t rubbed off on David Price, who outdueled Felix Hernandez in his last outing.<\/p>\n 9. St. Louis Cardinals (66-57)<\/strong><\/p>\n The Cardinals are running out of time if they hope to catch the Brewers. Yadier Molina is hoping to start swinging a bat sometime this week, and his return can\u2019t come soon enough.<\/p>\n 10. Seattle Mariners (67-56)<\/strong><\/p>\n Felix Hernandez was on a great run, but it had to end sometime. The team will stay out on the road this week for the final six games of their nine-game road trip. Winning two of their three games in Detroit bodes well for their chances the rest of the way.<\/p>\n 11. San Francisco Giants (65-58)<\/strong> Another MLB gambling season.
