2014 AFC South Division Preview \u2013 A Slam Dunk for the Colts?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The AFC South belonged to the Indianapolis Colts last year and a look at the division reveals that it will be theirs to lose once again this upcoming season. On paper the AFC South looks like the Colts and only the Colts \u2013 the rest of the division will be lucky just to get to the .500 mark. <\/p>\n

Is there any team that could surprise out of the AFC South?<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Colts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Indianapolis Colts are the best of the B-level\u201d teams in the NFL \u2013 very good but not quite elite. The key is the running game \u2013 Indianapolis absolutely has to get the most out of Trent Richardson this year. He has to be better \u2013 doesn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n

Indy has won 11 games each of the last two seasons \u2013 no reason to think they will fall from that level \u2013 they play the easiest schedule in the NFL and their Divisional foes went just 13-35 last season. Indianapolis is a playoff team for sure \u2013 they will cruise to the AFC South title but the AFC Championship or the Super Bowl may be another year away.<\/p>\n

Wow \u2013 the Houston Texans have some work to do \u2013 just to become relevant again. Off a dismal 2-14 campaign the Texans did little to improve themselves in the offseason. The brought in Ryan Fitzpatrick to cure the QB woes (ask Tennessee how that worked out for them), Ben Tate is gone and Arian Foster is apparently already banged up!

\nArian Foster is a serious injury risk and Andre Johnson is not a happy man \u2013 I am staying completely away from the Texans.<\/p>\n

Tennessee Titans<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Tennessee Titans hope to finally get a full season from Jake Locker \u2013 the oft injured QB has to remain on the field for the Titans. He is good enough to take the 7-9 team of last year into a playoff spot. Chris Johnson is gone leaving a big hole in the running game \u2013 somebody needs to step up.<\/p>\n

Defensively the Titans were competitive but they largely ignored that area in the draft. I could see Tennessee winning nine or ten games this year and challenge for a playoff spot.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville Jaguars<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Jacksonville Jaguars were bad in every aspect of the game \u2013 they don\u2019t look all that thrilling going into this year. It looks like Chad Henne will start the season over Blake Bortles. Henne has never scared anybody at any time \u2013 Bortles may be starting sooner or later.<\/p>\n

While I think this team could get 6 wins \u2013 a surprisingly tough schedule has the Jags looking more like a 4 win team.<\/p>\n
