Jags Over \/ Under Season Wins<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Jacksonville Jaguars were not a good football team in 2013. They went just 4-12, but the truth is that this was actually an improvement from their showing the year prior\u2014a year that saw them win just two games en route to a 2-14 record. <\/p>\n

Now this group is trying to prove that it can improve yet again, this time turning itself into a respectable organization.<\/p>\n

At this juncture, the Jaguars have the worst odds of any team in the NFL to win the 2015 Super Bowl. That shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise, considering this is the same group that started last season 0-8, losing all contests by double digits; however, a few key moves were made to strive for improvement, and the hope is that it can escape the basement of the league.<\/p>\n

If one thing is for sure, it\u2019s that this franchise should gain more attention from its fans next season. Not only has the team drafted a big-time prospect in Blake Bortles (who is something of a hometown kid coming from UCF), but it\u2019s also added some incredible upgrades to the stadium whether the team is winning or not.<\/p>\n

But, of course, stadium upgrades aren\u2019t going to equate to wins. It\u2019s going to take improvement on the field, and that improvement must start at quarterback.

\nWith Bortles on the bench, reportedly playing well in training camp, Chad Henne is going to feel the pressure early in the year. This will be a win-win situation for Jacksonville. Either Bortles feels the heat and turns up his production, or he can\u2019t handle the pressure, giving the organization an excuse to put in its potential face of the franchise earlier than expected.<\/p>\n

Of course the team wants to win, but getting the fans excited about Bortles will be just as much of a win if the team is struggling.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest problems for this organization is that Justin Blackmon is currently serving an indefinite suspension. He\u2019s a talented receiver who, ideally, could make life easier on whoever is throwing the ball behind center, but at this point, you can\u2019t count on him to be a contributor anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Over\/Under Prediction:<\/h3>\n

So will the Jaguars exceed their O\/U total for 2014 of 4.5 games? Hesitantly, the safe answer is yes. Not only should we see improvement at quarterback, but the team brought in Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson to speed along that process\u2014two players who will undoubtedly make up for the absence of Blackmon.<\/p>\n

Defense is still going to be a concern, as the team was 26th in opponent passing yards and 29th in opponent rushing yards last season, but if the offense is improved, it will make up the difference in a relatively soft AFC South Division.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t expect a massive turnaround from this franchise just yet, but (lightly) penciling them in for five or six wins isn\u2019t outside the realm of possibility.<\/p>\n
