Brickyard 400 Gambling Preview<\/h2>\n

NASCAR\u2019s Sprint Cup series begins its stretch run to this year\u2019s Chase after taking a week off with the running of the Brickyard 400 at fabled Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Sunday afternoon. <\/p>\n

The race is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on TNT.<\/p>\n

Brad Keselowski joined Jimmie Johnson as the only three-time winner in this season\u2019s Sprint Cup series with a victory two weeks ago at New Hampshire. Kyle Busch finished second in that race and Kyle Larson took third.<\/p>\n

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday\u2019s race based on odds provided by Bovada<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Favorite (odd of less than 10\/1)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Six-time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson<\/strong> has dominated a number of race tracks on the Sprint Cup series over the years and the main reason he has been opened as a 9\/2 favorite to win this week is his past dominance at Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

He finished second in last year\u2019s race after winning four of his previous seven trips around the Brickyard.

\nCurrent form also adds some solid value to these odds with the No. 48 car sitting in fifth-place in the Sprint Cup standings on the strength of those three point-race victories as well as three more top-five finishes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Contender (odds from 10\/1 to 19\/1)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you are looking for longer odds on one of the hottest drivers in the Sprint Cup series then take a hard look at Dale Earnhardt Jr.<\/strong> this week at 11\/1.<\/p>\n

He is having his best season in years with two checkered flags and seven additional finishes in the top-five. The No. 88 car is currently holding down second place in the standings with 658 points.<\/p>\n

Junior has never won a Sprint Cup race at Indianapolis before, but he has been in the mix the past two years with a fourth-place finish in 2012 followed by a sixth-place finish in last year\u2019s race.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Longshot (odds 20\/1 or greater)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The value in the field thins out pretty quickly once you start looking for a longshot for this Sunday\u2019s race, but if I had to make a play I would go with Carl Edwards<\/strong> at 33\/1.<\/p>\n

The main reason that the No. 99 car\u2019s odds are so high is a less than stellar 13.2 average finishing position at this track in nine previous Sprint Cup races.<\/p>\n

His best finish in the Brickyard 400 was second in 2008 but Edwards has not cracked the top 10 in his last three trips around this track.<\/p>\n

What does add value is a current form that includes victories this season at Bristol and Sonoma as part of eight top-10 finishes on the year. This team is in sixth place in the standings with 574 total points.<\/p>\n
