Honduras was completely overmatched by France in their opener while Ecuador played well and nearly pulled an upset in their first game of the tournament \u2013 a 2-1 eventual loss to Switzerland.<\/p>\n

Honduras had a miserable time against France in the opener. Not only were they totally outclassed in the game, but they were forced to play with 10 men after Wilson Palacios was sent off.<\/p>\n

Somewhat questionable tactics were the order of the day in their opener \u2013 let\u2019s hope that Honduras doesn\u2019t revert to their dirty ways against a team that they should be far more competitive against.<\/p>\n

Palacios could be a difference maker for this team assuming that his head is screwed on straight Friday. He is one of the few on the team with what can be described as world class talent. That said the Hondurans will have to find some offense \u2013 the only time one of their players scored in their opener was on their own net! Ecuador played well and maybe have deserved a point against heavy favorite Switzerland but a late goal sunk their chances. There are some serious players on the squad \u2013 Enner Valencia scored Ecuador\u2019s only goal and seems to be inspired as he plays for his friend Christian Benitez who died suddenly last year.<\/p>\n

He and Antonio Valencia who is the biggest name on this team give Ecuador credibility and hand the slight edge over to Ecuador ahead of this match.<\/p>\n

The key for Ecuador is to stay poised and to shrug off a goal in the 92nd minute that prevented them from gaining a point against Switzerland. Honduras plays hard and their sketchy aggression has a knack of getting under people\u2019s skin. Ecuador got a little emotional against Switzerland which cost them \u2013 they won\u2019t make that mistake again.<\/p>\n

These teams have played each other 13 times with eight of those games ending in a draw. In the other five games, Ecuador has a slight 3-2 advantage.<\/p>\n

Ecuador is simple the better team on paper and on the pitch.
