Ready to start betting on NCAA Football?<\/h2>\n

The 2014 NCAA football season is filled with intrigue because it’s the inaugural year that a playoff format will pit the country’s four best teams together to see who emerges as National Champion. <\/p>\n

The two Playoff Semi-Finals are played on January 1, 2015 in the form of the familiar Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl (the NCAA had to keep some familiarity in there, otherwise people’s heads would spin).<\/p>\n

The victors of those two games will showdown in Arlington, Texas at Cowboy Stadium for the national title.<\/p>\n

Let’s have a look at which teams we should see playing in those games:<\/p>\n

All Odds from Bovada<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Florida State Seminoles (4\/1):\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apart from QB Jameis Winston’s dominance last year (by the way, he’s back for another go-around) the Seminoles made it all look so easy en route to a perfect 14-0 record and a comeback National Championship victory against Auburn.<\/p>\n

Winston became the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner since Chris Weinke in 2000 and after a long absence from the nation’s elite programs, FSU exploded itself back into the scene last year.<\/p>\n

Head coach Jimbo Fisher has done a masterful job building the program up from the stewardship of the legendary but obsolete Bobby Bowden since 2010 and it looks like the ‘Noles will be sticking around at the top.<\/p>\n

Florida State is capable of once again running the table, as difficult as that is to do in modern college football.<\/p>\n

It will be made easier if Winston can remain focused, motivated and free of further legal trouble. Newcomers on the defense also need to jell, though that is Fisher’s specialty.<\/p>\n

Alabama Crimson Tide (6\/1):\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a season that could be a bit of a down year for the perpetually-dominant SEC, Alabama is still there as the royalty of the storied football conference.<\/p>\n

Much will depend on how new starting pivot Jacob Coker plays, but the expectation is high for the Florida State transfer.<\/p>\n

The Tide also boasts a great WR corps and one of the nation’s elite RBs in T.J. Yeldon.<\/p>\n

Georgia, South Carolina and Auburn also field decent teams, so going unbeaten might be a challenge, but this ‘Bama team could definitely finish the season at 11-1, which should be good enough to get them a playoff spot.<\/p>\n

Ohio State Buckeyes (12\/1):<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scarlet and Silver have been the pride of the Big Ten Conference since accomplished head coach Urban Meyer took the reins a couple of seasons ago. 2014 is the year for veteran upperclassman QB Braxton Miller to assert himself as the Heisman-caliber player he sometimes resembles and, above all, the leader of a National Champion.<\/p>\n

Even the most optimistic Midwestern football fan must admit there has been a bit of a power shift away from the Big Ten with so many strong teams emerging in the SEC, ACC and Pac-12, so there’s some legitimate concern that the Buckeyes might not be able to beat two of those other elite teams to claim the crown.

\nYet, Meyer, Miller and the rest of the Buckeyes will surely be up for the challenge.<\/p>\n

Oregon Ducks (9\/1):\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sensationalist journalists will often talk about a team’s “Secret Weapon”, but the centerpiece in Oregon’s arsenal is no secret: it’s junior QB Marcus Mariota.<\/p>\n

The upperclassman marvel decided to return to Eugene, and he’s central to the Ducks’s ambitions of claiming a national title. Ever since the Chip Kelly days, the Ducks have been built on a high-speed, quick-fire offense that thrives on spreading the ball around the field and having the threat of scrambling from their QB.<\/p>\n

Mariota brings that all in spades, and it’s why Oregon’s attack often resembles a video game.<\/p>\n

The Ducks will have to be careful with the two Los Angeles schools (USC, UCLA) but they are capable of representing the Pac-12 in the Playoff Semi-Final.<\/p>\n
