A sixth game in the series is necessary after the Canadiens took care of business on their home ice with a 7-4 victory in Game 5 on Tuesday night, and they now look to claim this one and force a deciding Game 7.<\/p>\n

Game 5 in this series was a wild one. The Canadiens found their scoring touch early, netting two goals in the first, then another two early in the second for a 4-1 lead, chasing Henrik Lundqvist from the game, after he stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced.<\/p>\n

From there, the Rangers rang off three consecutive goals to tie the game, with Chris Kreider in on all three of them, and Rick Nash scoring and adding a helper. The Canadiens scored 58 seconds after that game-tying goal, then twice more in the third period to seal their 7-4 season-extending win.

\nThe play from that 11-goal game that has everyone talking didn\u2019t involve a goal be scored at all. Rangers defenseman John Moore\u2019s late, and illegal, hit on Dale Weise earned him a match penalty and a hearing with the league, which led to a two-game suspension.<\/p>\nThe hit brought back memories of one from earlier in the series, when Canadiens forward Brandon Prust delivered a blindside hit on Rangers forward Derek Stepan that earned him a two-game suspension. Ironically, Prust will return from his suspension in time for Game 6.<\/p>\n
Beating Henrik Lundqvist a second consecutive time has proved a difficult task for teams far better than this group of Canadiens. The King was surely stewing on the bench after getting pulled in Game 5 and will no doubt respond with an all-world performance that will be too much for a Canadiens team that has had difficulty scoring even in the best of times.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the over has been the play in this series, but it\u2019s hard to imagine Henrik Lundqvist not having a special performance planned for the MSG faithful in this one. Getting pulled in the last game will have him extra motivated for this contest. At the other end, Dustin Tokarski won\u2019t be facing the same desperate Rangers team that scored four goals on him in Game 5, as they likely won\u2019t find themselves trying to dig out of such a large deficit.<\/p>\n
The Rangers are 6-2 in their last eight games, while the Canadiens are 1-4 in their last five games following a win.<\/p>\n
