The Reds have to be among the most disappointing teams in the league. They are bumbling along under .500 and with Joey Votto out and the rest of the lineup struggling they are just not putting up enough runs to win consistently. <\/p>\n

I am not sure what happened but this was supposed to be one of the better offensive teams in the league. Instead they are relying on a solid staff to try and keep them in it until their bats warm up. A trip to Arizona could do it.<\/p>\n
That has definitely worked for other teams.<\/p>\n

It looked like lefty Tony CIngrani was going to pick up right where he left off in 2013 with 7 shutout innings in his first start but like the rest of the Reds he has been underperforming this season.<\/p>\n
Cincinnati has lost his last three starts and Cingrani has struggled on the road.<\/p>\n
The Diamondbacks are far from the best team in the league but this park has a tendency to play like \u00a0a band box so look out.

Arizona dug themselves such a big hole it is hard to see how they are going to get themselves out of it in a division with at least three winning teams.<\/p>\n
The weird part is how bad they have been at home where they are just 8-19. The Diamondbacks can be an explosive offensive team with Paul GoldSchmidt leading the way but they are not at full strength with slugger Mark Trumbo on the sidelines.<\/p>\n
It has become easy for opponents to limit Goldy by pitching around him with others not stepping up.<\/p>\n
Josh Collmenter does not have the best stuff but he is a battler and that is what has enabled the Diamondbacks to win 5 of his last 6 starts. He may have started the season in the bullpen but Arizona is desperate to find any kind of winning formula so he will be in the rotation for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
As expressed above, Chase Field is no friend to hurlers and his home\u00e9road splits reflect that.<\/p>\n
I am looking for an offensive outburst in this one. The smart play with these two inconsistent teams is the total. Cingrani might be able to hold down the Diamondbacks but I don\u00e8t trust Collmenter to do so on the Reds.<\/p>\n
Maybe I need to give up on them but I just have not yet.<\/p>\n
