The purse, of $6,000,000, is going to bring out the best golfers in the world sans Tiger Woods.

That might be a good thing for online sportsbook betting fans looking to make a bet on one of the golfers trying to take down El Tigre.

But the FBR in Scottsdale might not be just a good place for online golf betting fans to find a single player to make a wager on. It’s also a good place to do some match-up betting.

Let’s get to it!

FBR Tournament Best Online Match-Up Bets

1. Anthony Kim +110 vs. Phil Mickelson -140 – – Kim showed towards the end of last year that he has what it takes to move into the upper echelon. Lefty is still one of the best on the tour but he has trouble closing the deal. I like Kim to take this.

Pick: Kim at +110

2. JB Holmes -120 vs. DJ Trahan -110 – – Holmes won this tournament last year. So, he should be able to do some good things this year. Putting up the extra 10 bucks makes sense because JB should be very confident out there.

Pick: Holmes at -120

3. Angel Cabrera Ev vs. Kevin Na -130 – – Cabrera was a stud early during the year in 2008. If he repeats that, then he’s a good online bet every week. Kevin Na is playing well, but I still have to go with Angel in this. Cabrera is one of those golfers that can really turn it on when he needs at times. I’ve got the feeling the FBR is one of those times.

Pick: Cabrera at Ev

4. Kenny Perry -115 vs. Stephen Ames -115 – – Perry was the feel good story of 2008 after finishing in the top ten in earnings at the age of 47. No worries. He should keep it going in Scottsdale against Ames who just isn’t as good as Perry is right now. I’m going with Perry.

Pick: Perry at -115

5. Geoff Ogilvy -130 vs. Mike Weir Ev – – Both of these fellas were really, really good in 2008 but Weir is getting odds while BetUS online sportsbook betting fans are going to have to shell out another 30 bucks for the pleasure of betting on Ogilvy. I always prefer to go with the golfer getting odds.

Pick: Weir at Ev

6. Steve Stricker -105 vs. Justin Leonard -125 – – Leonard is the better known player, he usually finishes in the top ten, but Stricker could surprise in this match-up. It’s too early to tell, but Stricker might have a fantastic year while Leonard could possibly fall back to the pack like he did at the beginning of 2008. I’ll take a shot on Stricker in this.

Pick: Stricker at -105

CLICK HERE TO BET TODAY ON THE 2009 FBR OPEN Golf Odds from Betus.com Sportsbook >>>

This weekend is the FBR Tournament in Scottsdale, AZ.
