This team seems to have gotten pretty lifeless this season, the offense is really struggling even though Billy Hamilton adds a little excitement he is not having a huge impact.<\/p>\n

The real question is where would they be without Devin Mesoraco.<\/p>\n
The part time catcher is hitting .360 and is second on the team in homers. That can\u2019t be right, can it?<\/p>\n
This was supposed to be the season that Homer Bailey proved that he was worth the hype he generated on his way to the Majors.<\/p>\n
Last year it looked like he was figuring it out and this year we he was supposed to take that next step and start really winning, maybe put up a 17-10 record or something like that.<\/p>\n
It has certainly not happened and he is sporting an ERA higher than any he has had in a full season thanks to a plethora of walks and homers allowed.

The Dodgers might be finally ready to start making their push. The starting rotation has been awesome lately and there may be addition by subtraction in the lineup with Carl Crawford out of the lineup for a little while.<\/p>\n
He wasn\u2019t doing much and creates a little more urgency and playing time for the likes of Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier.<\/p>\n
L.A. has now past the Rockies in the NL West and has their sights set on San Francisco as they look to sweep Cincinnati<\/p>\n
Clayton Kershaw has had a weird season. After starting for the Dodgers down under he was on the shelf for a month. \u00a0Since rejoining the rotation he has had two shutout outings bookending one mediocre and one terrible performance against Arizona.<\/p>\n
All of his peripherals look good, especially the strikeout rate, so odds are the ERA will creep down to expected levels by the All-Star break. \u00a0He is a hard guy to bet against.<\/p>\n
Even a guy like Kershaw is a allowed to have a bad outing once in a while. The fact that he already has had one makes me feel comfortable riding him, especially at home and especially with the Reds missing their best bat in Joey Votto.<\/p>\n
The Reds have been struggling to score all season long and missing him doesn’t help.<\/p>\n
