After a couple of wins in Seattle Tampa\u2019 s struggles continued in L.A. last night as they were blew the game late, big time, against the Angels. <\/p>\n

This team will get back some key starters soon but is also missing lineup linchpin Ben Zobrist who was placed on the DL earlier in the week. The problem for Tampa is that a lineup led by retreads James Loney and David DeJesus nearly good enough to compete with a mediocre pitching staff.<\/p>\n
They need their big bats, either Evan Longoria or Wil Myers to pick the team up for a while.<\/p>\n

There is no doubting that Chris Archer has potential but his 2014 season has been pretty forgettable so far. After a decent start he has given up 3 or more runs in each of his last 4 starts while not pitching deeper than the 6th inning in any of them.

\nTampa is floundering and with so many pitchers on the DL their need their potential future ace to start pitching like it.<\/p>\nLos Angeles<\/h3>\n
The Angels have been playing some really good baseball, keeping the heat on Oakland in the AL West. They have won 6 of their last 7 including last night\u2019s come from behind win over Tampa.<\/p>\n
The offense has come alive lately and is second in the league averaging over 5 runs per game.<\/p>\n
Key has been Albert Pujols, who looks more like his former self with 10 early homer. There is a chance the offense gets better too when Josh Hamilton gets back from the DL later this month and Mike Trout starts playing more like the best player in baseball.<\/p>\n
All the reports are that Angels starter Jered Weaver is losing his stuff. If that is the case than he is truly a master because his number have been strong this season, especially in his last three games where he is sporting a 3-0 record with a 1.83 ERA.<\/p>\n
If you take out one especially poor performance against Houston where he gave up 4 homers and he has been one of the most effective pitchers in the American League.<\/p>\n
Fading the Rays is winning strategy so far as no team has lost more units than Tampa this season. Archer is capable of shutting down the Angels lineup but based on what we have seen that is a 50\/50 proposition at best.<\/p>\n
I will take the Angels behind a Weaver whose epitaph might have been written too soon.<\/p>\n
