For Texas, the one-point win over Oklahoma will be what most fans remember, but losing to every other ranked opponent can\u2019t go unnoticed.<\/p>\n The Oregon Ducks, who were BCS bowl or bust all season, find themselves in the Alamo Bowl despite being a top-10 team in the national rankings. This isn\u2019t the game they wanted when the year began, but it has the potential to be one of the most intriguing matchups of the non-BCS bunch.<\/p>\n The Ducks have become known for their high-octane offense, and while Marcus Mariota and the passing game have earned a ton of credit, it\u2019s De\u2019Antony Thomas, Byron Marshall and the running game you need to watch out for in this one.<\/p>\n Mariota will keep the defense honest with his ability to throw downfield, but Texas\u2019 run defense ranks just 80th<\/sup> in the FBS.<\/p>\n It has given up 180.5 yards per game on the ground, while Oregon has run to the tune of 278.3 yards per contest\u2014the ninth-best mark in the country.<\/p>\n Defensively, the Ducks need to do the same: watch out for the run. Texas\u2019 passing game has been subpar to say the least, and its rushing game, while not elite, has been the 36th<\/sup> in the nation in terms of yards per game. Texas has endured a season of ups and downs, and while the win in the Red River Rivalry is among the best, it\u2019s often overshadowed by the fact that the team went 0-3 against its only other ranked opponents.<\/p>\n The closest comparison on Texas\u2019 schedule to Oregon has to be the Baylor Bears. Baylor was ranked ninth when the team teams faced off in the final week of the regular season, and its offense is every bit as dynamic, if not more dynamic, than what the Longhorns will see against the Ducks.<\/p>\n Texas fell 30-10 in the game against Baylor.<\/p>\n The Ducks are a near two-touchdown favorite, and while that\u2019s a lot for a game with this much prep time, it\u2019s reasonable if you\u2019ve watched these two teams all year.
