How about five of the top six playoff seeds in the NFL losing?

How about Miami coming back against New England, San Diego marching into Denver and knocking off the Broncos. And how about those Dallas Cowboys who seem to be inventing new ways to lose.

All of these storylines plus a few others has made a huge impact on this week’s list.

Let`s break it all down in this week’s edition of Dave B’s NFL Power Rankings

1. SEAHAWKS (Last Week: 1)

There is absolutely zero doubt about the team that sits at the top of the Rankings this week unlike weeks before. The Hawks shut out the Giants in the building that the Super Bowl will be played in February. Five interceptions by the defense and a good all around offensive effort has the Hawks looking like the class of the league right now.

2. BRONCOS (Last Week: 2)

Many have the Broncos sliding down the Rankings a whole lot more than myself but there is little doubt that they are still the class of the AFC. Despite a 3-2 record in the last five weeks, Denver still has the leadership and the offensive prowess to sit at #2. When Wes Welker comes back the Broncos will be fine.

*CLICK HERE* GRAB OUR BEST Expert NFL FOOTBALL Picks for 2013 GAMBLING season!

3. PANTHERS (Last Week: 5)

The Panthers are 8-1 in their last nine weeks and have a chance to claim their division crown with a win over the Saints Sunday. The defense is insane and the offense has shown a balance over the last nine weeks. Carolina looks like the most dangerous team in the NFC right now – outside of the Hawks.

4. 49ERS (Last Week’s Ranking: 6)

The Niners followed their win against Seattle with a nice win over the improving Bucs on Sunday. The unflattering offense is heating up -Colin Kaepernick’s last four games: seven touchdowns, one interception, 104.6 rating, 29 carries, 111 yards and the defense continues to terrorize. Losses by the teams challenging them in the Power Rankings in Week 15 allows the 49ers to claim a top 5 spot this week.

5. SAINTS (Last Week: 3)

The Saints are officially a bad road team – 3-4 this season and they are now faced with the prospect of Carolina on the road for their division title. New Orleans looks mighty vulnerable away from the Superdome – reason for concern in New Orleans.

6. PATRIOTS (Last Week: 4)

The Pats slip this week after a loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. The loss of Rob Gronkowski looms large although the other pass catchers stepped up Sunday. The Pats lost some luster in Week 15 and also lost their grip on a Top 5 spot in the Rankings as well.

7. CHIEFS (Last Week: 7)

The Chiefs are working themselves back up the Rankings and they can thank an offense that has put up 101 points in the last two games. Jamaal Charles scored five times on Sunday – unreal. The Chiefs are officially in the playoffs and are #7 this week in the Rankings.

8. CARDINALS (Last Week: 10)

The Cardinals keep getting it done and now have a nice, tidy, 9-5 record – but they still sit a game out of a Wild Card spot. Larry Fitzgerald was concussed Sunday – a big concern for this team but there is no doubt that they are playing some good ball in defense and offense.
[soliloquy id=”82219″]
9. RAVENS (Last Week: 11)

Another insane comeback was capped by a 61 yard field goal by Justin Tucker – what a weapon! There seems to be some outside force at work here willing the Ravens to the playoffs – don’t you think?

10. EAGLES (Last Week: 9)

The Eagles lost by 18 to the Vikings in Week 15 and slip only one spot on the Rankings mostly due to the others around them faltering. Philadelphia had been playing good defense before Week 15 – something they are going to have to get back to – the offense will obviously do their job!

11. BENGALS (Last Week: 8)

Disappointing effort in Pittsburgh has the Bengals as the biggest slider of the week among the top 12. They simply didn’t look like a playoff caliber team! Their three game win streak is over and so is their heir of invincibility – Baltimore may catch the Bengals in the AFC North!

12. COLTS (Last Week: 12)

Finally – a good performance by the Colts! Am I impressed – a bit, but not enough to move them up my Rankings. Indy still has to build my trust down the stretch – they look a lot like a one-and-done in the playoffs.

13. BEARS (Last Week: 13)
14.
