The Fresno State Bulldogs may not be playing for a BCS bowl bid at this point in the season, but their year has been far from a waste, as they have a chance to complete a one-loss campaign with a win this weekend. Fresno State is set to take on the Utah State Aggies. <\/p>\n

Buy Razor Ray’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL Picks!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Aggies are riding a five-game winning streak and have found a nice balance on both offense and defense this season.<\/p>\n The game won\u2019t be easy for either side, which is why the Bulldogs are favored by just three points entering the contest.<\/p>\n Utah State may not have the toughest schedule in the nation, but it has a number of quality teams that it has gone through to get to this point. Most notably is the San Jose State Spartans\u2014the same team that just took down Fresno State last weekend.<\/p>\n On the year, the Aggies are scoring a solid 33.9 points per contest. They\u2019re 38th in that particular category, and they\u2019re 55th in passing and 41st in rushing as well. But while the offense has done a decent job of remaining relevant, it\u2019s the defense that has helped this team make a name for itself.<\/p>\n The team is allowing just 16.8 points per outing, which is seventh in the entire FBS. Containing the man behind center is priority No. 1, and if the team can do just that, it will have a huge shot at coming away with the upset.<\/p>\n As good as Carr has been on the year\u2014he has his team as the No. 1 passing team in the country\u2014he has a strong defense to go up against this weekend. The Utah State Aggies rank 11th in total yards allowed, and while the majority of that is due to their run defense, they\u2019re also 23rd in defending the pass.<\/p>\n Conversely, Fresno State must also watch out for Aggies quarterback Darrell Garretson. The freshman was slid into the lineup earlier this season because of injuries, and he has eight touchdowns to just two interceptions, averaging better than 200 yards per outing.<\/p>\n Fresno State has never played Utah State when both are members of the Mountain West Conference, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a history.
